The deadline for registration is on 30 June 2017.
(If you require a visa, the deadline for registration is on 1 June 2017.)
The University offers the following courses:
German courses in general language proficiency at level A1 up to B1 (GER)
 
DSH Exam Preparation
 
German courses in general language proficiency at level B2/C1 (GER) and academic German courses for the following disciplines:
All courses take place in the morning and consist of 25 teaching hours (at 45 min. each) per week. A varied leisure programme including excursions in and around Bielefeld complements the lessons.
There are 15 persons in each course group.
The minimum age to participate in the summer language courses is 18 years.
 
Course Fees
The course fee is 590 Euro. This includes:
  • Language course and project work
  • Proficiency test (if desired)
  • Some of the leisure programme and two weekend excursions
Paper handling 100 Euro. 
Accomodation
The rent for a room in the student halls of residence is 236 - 326 Euro plus 50 Euro deposit, and for a room staying with a guest family it is 250 Euro plus 50 Euro deposit. The deposit can be reimbursed at the end of the course.
During your stay in Bielefeld you can take part in a varied and extensive programme of activities in your spare time. Bielefeld and its surroundings have much to offer in the way of recreational activities. Attractions are easy to reach by public transport.
Our programme of activities includes:
  • Visit to Dr. Oetker World
  • City Rally through Bielefeld - fun sightseeing quiz to get to know Bielefeld
  • Walking tour to the wildlife park (Tierpark) of Olderdissen
  • Common evening
In addition to this, all course participants take part in at least two of our working groups in regional and cultural studies. The following activities are a selection of events that are hosted by the working groups:
  • Visit to summer outdoor film event showcasing German films
  • Cooking "typically" German food
  • Dancing, Singing, Drama
Furthermore, there are two day-trips to well-known cities included in the course price. Participants can choose from the following selection:
  • Visit to the "House of History of the Federal Republic of Germany" in Bonn with a following stay in Cologne
  • Trip to the "Universum" in Bremen
  • Visit to the stadium of Borussia Dortmund
  • Trip to the federal state government in Düsseldorf

In addition, you may use the extensive sports facilities at Bielefeld University. Whether you like football, badminton, tennis or enjoy more exotic types of sport such as archery and capoeira, there are plenty of possibilities to pursue physical activities.
