The main outcomes of the DG3(Ukraine) at the XI International Conference of scientists "Ecology – Philosophy of Human Existence"

This conference combined a hybrid format, in which scientists and students from other universities and countries could participate. Around 150 students and 25 scientists from Ukrainian universities attended the conference. Correspondingly, around 15 scientists from Wageningen University (the Netherlands) and Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (Germany) participated in it.

This conference aimed to emphasize the main environmental issues that the environment and people are facing nowadays. The Ukrainian environment is suffering from military activities that provide soil and water pollution, food and water scarcity for different socio-economic sectors. Also, agricultural practices in Ukraine demand new green technologies to provide sustainable food production. These points and other environmental reviews were discussed during the conference.

At this conference, Vita Strokal, as a coordinator of the Ukrainian part of the EU Horizon Path4Med project, presented the main outcomes of the stakeholder mapping based on policy strategies addressing water and soil management in the Dnipro River Basin in Ukraine.

These results relate to DG3(Ukraine) "Future pathways for zero pollution in the Dnipro Basin under emerging challenges and threats", which is one of the parts of the Demonstration Sites in the EU Horizon Path4Med project. She presented policy strategies that address soil and water management, benchmarking analyses, and categorization of stakeholder engagement into water and soil protection and their roles in implementing innovative technologies and agricultural practices in the Dnipro River Basin. Meanwhile, she showed the development of the stakeholders' mapping framework, which was created by NUBiP’s team.
