Advantages & Opportunities

MSc Program “Ecology and Environmental protection” aims at providing a critical and conceptually-based understanding of structure, functioning, monitoring, and management of ecosystems submitted to various natural and anthropogenic pressures, in the framework of biodiversity conservation.

The special part of our MSc Program will be focused on topics such as the radioactive contamination monitoring of environmental; methods of ionizing radiation dosimetry and measurement of activity in environmental objects, principles of creation and functioning of radiation control systems and radioecological monitoring. Students will obtain practical skills of working in radiation contaminated territories like Chornobyl exclusion zone (ChEZ), through solving actual problems in radiation ecology.

The programme combines theoretical studies of ecology with practical work. Lectures are mixed with group work, laboratory work, seminars, excursions and independent project work, including planning of field and laboratory exercises.

The Master's Programme gives you knowledge and skills for advanced work in governments, companies and is an excellent base for PhD studies. The profile in nature conservation provides especially good competence for future work with nature and environmental issues in authorities and companies.
