NUBiP of Ukraine took part in International Week and UNITA Days: Cultural Diversity in Higher Education (Transylvania University of Brasov, Romania)

From March 31 to April 04, 2025, the Transylvania University of Brasov (Romania) hosted the International Week and UNITA Days event: Cultural Diversity in Higher Education, dedicated to cultural diversity in higher education. The main goal of the event was to promote cultural diversity as an important element that makes universities more attractive for studying and prepares students for “global citizenship”.

The program of the event included the exchange of experience and best practices in cultural training of students and employees within the framework of Erasmus+ mobility. The event was organized as part of the UNITA alliance, which brings together 12 universities from 7 countries to develop European educational space and support border and mountain regions.

Transylvania University of Brasov is the largest institution of higher education in central Romania, with 18 faculties and more than 20,000 students studying forestry, engineering, economics, medicine, and art.

More than 40 representatives from 21 countries attended the event. The program included interactive workshops on intercultural communication and emotional intelligence, meetings with representatives of the university community, and excursions to cultural sites, including Bran Castle. The participants discussed administrative aspects of international cooperation and participated in cultural events.

During the visit, Oleksandr SOSHENSKYI, Associate Professor of the Department of Forestry and Head of the International Projects Office of NUBiP of Ukraine, met with representatives of the Faculty of Forestry and Forest Engineering of the University of Transylvania — Dr. Florin HALALISAN and Prof. Bogdan POPA. During the meeting issues of cooperation between the Institute of Forestry and Landscape-Park Management (NUBiP of Ukraine) and the Faculty of Forestry and Forest Engineering (UNITBV) were discussed, in particular in the context of the joint ForestPost project aimed at modernizing master's programs to support the green reconstruction of Ukraine.

The event was an important step in strengthening international relations, promoting academic mobility and exchange of experience between universities. It also emphasized the importance of cultural understanding and cooperation for the development of modern higher education.
