NULES of Ukraine Was Included Into the List of National Contact Points of the EU Framework Programme “Horizon 2020”

     NULES of Ukraine was included into the list of national contact points of the European Union Framework Programme “Horizon 2020.”

     The programme is designed to combine European initiatives for research and innovation. It will last until 2020. The amount of funding is about €70 billion. The priority areas of the program include research, competitive manufacturing, ICT, nanotechnology, new material study, biotechnology, space technology etc. Also, the focus is laid on social issues – demographic changes, safe food, sustainable agriculture and eco-friendly energy.

     The university will be a coordinator of two national contact points. The field “Climate and Effective Use of Resources (Including Raw Materials)” is headed by Professor Semen Tanchyk. The head of the field “Food Security, Sustainable Agriculture, Marine Research and Bioeconomy” is Professor Dmytro Zasyekin.

     The work of national contact points will positively impact cooperation with the European Union on research and technological development, as well as will increase awareness about the program “Horizon 2020.”
