Expert-advisor on forestry and reproduction of forest resources. Work at the department since 2003. Lectures on subjects "Forest plantations", "Microclonal woody plant breeding", and “The methods of biotechnology in ornamental nursery".
Researches related to the development and improvement of biotechnological methods of reproduction and fast-growing ornamental woody plants, rehabilitation of planting material. The author of over 90 scientific and methodical works and co-author of 10 patents.

Graduate with Storozhynetsk Forest College (1969) and the Faculty of Forestry Ukrainian agricultural academy (now NULES of Ukraine, 1974). Candidate of agricultural sciences, professor, corresponding member of the FASU, the Excellence in Forestry of Ukraine, Excellent Public Education of Ukraine, Honored Forester of Ukraine. At the department since 1976. He lectures students EL "Bachelor" ("Forest plantations","Ornamental nursery") and EL "Master" ("Ecological bases of reproduction of forests" and others). Supervises bachelor and master's qualification works and training graduate students. Research interests are related to the study of the theoretical foundations of reforestation and afforestation on the principles of environmentally oriented forestry and development of zonal forest and ornamental seedling. The author of the textbook "Ornamental Nursery" (2008), co-author of four books "Forest plantations" (1995, 1996, 2005) and "Increasing the productivity of forests by silvicultural methods" (2010), four scientific monographs (2002, 2005, 2010, 2013) and a number of ISO and JMA in forest area. He has published over 180 scientific and methodical works. Working administrative positions has made considerable efforts to developing forestry department and the establishment of the Institute of Forestry and Park Gardening (2001). He initiated and founded the department of Forest Management (1998), resumed training in the field of "Landscape Economy" (1998) and "Wood Technology" (1999), organized the Faculty of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture (2000).

Yukhnovsky V. began his career, first as Assistant of Professor (1981-1991), Associate Professor (1992-1999), Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Forestry (1998-2000), head of department (2003-2006), Director of education and research institute of forestry and park gardening (2004-2005), director of the institute of forestry and decorative horticulture (2006-2010), head of the department of forest melioration and optimization of forest-agricultural landscapes (2003-2016).
Doctor of Agricultural Sciences (2004), Professor (2005), academician of Forest Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (2004) and the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences (2005). Published over 200 scientific papers. Supervises the preparation of final qualifying works of students both Bachelor and Master qualifications.
Research work is related to reproduction of pine forests around Kiev. The author of over 50 scientific and educational works. Co-author of two scientific monographs (2010, 2013), 4 patents. Participates in the implementation of research for the state budget theme "To develop the improvment methods of scientific basis reproduction of forest resources in Ukraine from the standpoint of sustainable forest management." Responsible for liaison with the scientific library of the university.

For students of Bachelor level teaches the disciplines: "Forest reclamation", "Agroforestry", "Fundamentals of hydto technical melioratiuon of forest lands and for Master level - "Protective plantations in the ways of transport." His research interests are included restoration of ecological balance-beam ravine landscapes of Ukraine under the influence of protective forest plantations. Author of over 100 scientific and educational works, monographs and three textbooks, four patents. He is responsible for decorating at the department.

Lectures on the subjects "Urban ecology and phytomelioration", “Agroforestry”. Conducts practical training courses of "Urban ecology and phytomelioration", "Forest melioration" and "Agroforestry". Research interests: shelter afforestation, development of agroforestry in the context of organic farming and sustainable environmental management. Author and co-author of 15 scientific papers. At the department is responsible for international activities, information and advertising sector.
