The past century was filled with social upheavals - revolutions, wars, famine, terror, technical disasters, economic cataclysms, so the issue of the spiritual beauty of man was neglected, subordinated to the involvement of the main political force of the country. Unfortunately, today the problems have only intensified, because the Ukrainian land is once again being trampled by the executioner's foot, so cultural and educational activities for the sake of educating a morally and spiritually perfect personality with a clear patriotic civic position occupy one of the leading places at the National University of Bioresources and Environmental Management of Ukraine.
The organizers of such activities (among which the Department of Cultural Studies occupies a leading place) do everything in order to confirm the words of V.O. Sukhomlynsky: "Beauty is a powerful means of educating the sensitivity of the soul. This is a peak from which you can see what you will never see without understanding and feeling the beautiful, without admiration and inspiration. Beauty is a bright light that illuminates the world. In this light, truth, righteousness, goodness are revealed to you; illuminated by this light, you become devoted and irreconcilable. Beauty teaches you to recognize evil and fight it. I would call beauty the gymnastics of the soul — it corrects our spirit, our conscience, our feelings and beliefs. Beauty is a mirror in which you see yourself and, thanks to it, you relate to yourself in one way or another."
It is precisely such "gymnastics" with immersion in the realm of spiritual values, comprehension of national culture and tolerant attitude towards the culture of other peoples that teachers and students engage in during lectures, practical classes, in the process of working in circles, clubs for interests, studios, during various events - from visiting theaters, exhibitions, museums, meetings with figures of literature and art to mass celebrations of significant events in the history and culture of our people or creative competitions and festivals.
So, each academic year at the university opens with a large-scale solemn dedication of first-year students to students - the holiday "Knowledge Day", which, in addition to scientific and pedagogical workers, students and their parents, graduates of the university of past years, is attended by honored guests, outstanding personalities of the present, famous scientists, successful agricultural businessmen, representatives of the Administration of the President of Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Kyiv City State Administration. On this day, foreign guests come to the university, the number of which is increasing every year, which indicates the growth of the international image of NUBiP of Ukraine.
Students also celebrate their “professional” holiday - International Student Day.
Students are enthusiastic about the holiday of beauty and courage “Beauty of NUBiP”, which annually presents not only the external beauty of the participants, but also spiritual beauty, intelligence and sense of humor.

And also - lectures “Just about the Complex”, premieres of theatrical performances of the student folk theater "Berezil", evenings of sports glory, New Year's events and spring holidays, Shevchenkiada, presentations of programs with the participation of many groups and performers, including the Stanislav Semenovsky folk song and dance ensemble "Kolos", the academic choir, the male folk vocal ensemble "Amero" and the female folk vocal ensemble "Octava", the folk art studio "7 steps", the ballroom dance ensemble "Charm" and the choreographic ensemble "Suzirya rytmiv", as well as eminent personalities - professor of the Department of Cultural Studies, People's Artist of Ukraine, poet-songwriter Vadym Kryshchenko, People's Artist of Ukraine, Professor of the Department Roman Rudy, Honored Artist of Ukraine, Associate Professor of the Department Viktor Kavun, presidential scholarship holders Taras Kushnir and Vladyslav Chaika with their students - students of NUBiP.
And, of course, the muses are not silent, expressing their respect and honor to those who defended and are defending native land, showing patriotism and heroism: at the university, requiems at the memorial complex and dedications to the soldiers of the Armed Forces, Marathons of Memory of Heroes are traditional. Thus, culture and art prove Byron's famous words: "He who does not love his country cannot love anything." This is how the Department of Culturology of the NUBiP of Ukraine is filled with the light of the soul, and young people forever remember that the most beautiful beauty is spiritual, that the most important respect is spiritual, and only a person who is great not by position, but in position - not by the amount of material wealth acquired is worthy of such respect.
