The department staff works on improving existing high-yield breeds, lines of cattle, and poultry crosses; developing and implementing computer programs for managing the selection process, developing new and improving traditional methods of reproduction and preservation of the gene pool, applying the achievements of genetics of qualitative and quantitative traits in animal selection

Methods have been identified, the application of which ensures the determination of the authenticity of the origin of breeding animals; the identification of individuals carrying hidden genetic defects; the conduct of marker-assisted selection (MAS). The methodology of genetic control over the course of the selection process in herds of farm animals based on the dynamics of the frequency of marker genes has been substantiated. Effective schemes for stimulating the reproductive capacity of cows and boars have been developed based on the use of biologically active preparations of neurotropic-metabolic action “Glutam 1M”, “StimulinVet,” “Shans,” “Yantargin,” “Nanovolyn,” “Kvatoran-Se,” and “Nanovolyn-R.”
