Erasmus+ в Іспанії: мій шлях академічного та особистісного зростання

Hello!

My name is Ilona, and I am currently studying Business and Administration at the University of Cartagena in Spain as part of the Erasmus+ program. Studying abroad has been an incredible opportunity for both personal and academic growth, and I would like to share a bit about my experience.

The Erasmus+ program is designed to give students the opportunity to study in another European country for one semester or an entire academic year. It emphasizes cultural exchange, academic development, and international networking. For me, joining Erasmus meant stepping out of my comfort zone, adapting to a new learning environment, and experiencing Spanish culture firsthand.

At the University of Cartagena, the Faculty of Business and Administration offers a wide range of courses in management, finance, marketing, and entrepreneurship. The program is highly interactive: professors encourage students to participate in discussions, case studies, and group projects. One of the highlights of my studies has been working on real business cases with classmates from different countries. This diversity not only improves my problem-solving and communication skills but also teaches me to approach challenges from multiple perspectives.

Beyond academics, living in Cartagena has been an amazing experience. The city combines rich history, beautiful architecture, and a vibrant student life. I enjoy exploring the streets, visiting historical sites, and, of course, the Mediterranean beaches! Being immersed in Spanish culture has significantly improved my language skills and allowed me to connect with local students as well as Erasmus participants from all over Europe.

When comparing my studies in Spain with those in Ukraine at the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences (NUBiP), I notice both differences and similarities. In Spain, the learning approach is more practical and interactive, with a strong focus on teamwork, case studies, and real-world business applications. In Ukraine, the emphasis is often more theoretical, with structured lectures and exams that provide a solid foundation in business concepts and accounting principles. Studying at both universities has allowed me to gain a broad set of skills, combining theoretical knowledge with practical problem-solving, analytical thinking, and intercultural communication.

Despite these differences, there are also similarities between NUBiP and UPCT. Both universities have dedicated faculties in business and administration, offer a wide range of courses in management, finance, and entrepreneurship, and encourage students to engage in research, projects, and professional development. This has enabled me to connect what I learn in Ukraine with real-world applications in Spain, enriching my academic experience and preparing me for an international career.

Overall, my Erasmus+ experience has helped me grow both as a student and as a person, preparing me for a global career in business and administration. I highly recommend this program to anyone who wants to combine education with cultural immersion, international networking, and unforgettable memories.
