A seminar on improving the pedagogical skills of curators was held at the university

It has already become a good tradition to hold a seminar on improving the pedagogical skills of mentors or curators of academic groups of NULES of Ukraine, which was held on September 10 this year. Its content is provided by the Department of Pedagogy and the Educational and Scientific Center of the educational work and social development of NULES of Ukraine.

The seminar was opened by the moderator of the event, Head of the Department of Pedagogy Ruslan Sopivnyk, who introduced the speakers and invited to the word an Academician, Vice-rector for training and educational work Serhiy Kvasha.

  

In his report, Serhiy Mykolayovych raised a number of important questions, in particular, the academic rank of the student. In this aspect, the Vice-Rector spoke about the achievements of our students, in particular students-winners of the second stage of the All-Ukrainian Olympiads, winners of sports competitions, competition "Holosiivska Vesna", etc. He pointed out that university student youth should be included in various types of socially beneficial activities. Also in his speech Serhiy Mykolayovych told about the rules of accommodation in the hostels of NULES of Ukraine.

  

  

Hennadiy Rzhevskyi, Director of TSC of Educational and Social Development of NULES of Ukraine in his report "Tasks and Content of Work of Academic Group Teacher and Educator in Student Hostels of NULES of Ukraine" disclosed the tasks of academic groups' mentors, emphasized the work of the university, underlined the work of the university with foreign students and rules for awarding scholarships to students, gave interesting examples of education of student youth in foreign countries, gave practical advice on the organization of educational work of mentors, etc. Also, Hennadiy Mykolayovych informed the participants of the seminar about sanitary and hygienic requirements and rules of accommodation in the hostel, presented the scheme of placement of NULES of Ukraine prepared for first-year students, as well as the plan of holding the NULES of Ukraine students' contest among the students of the campus. The participants of the scientific-methodical seminar asked many questions to the speaker, which caused a healthy interesting discussion.

  

Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Assistant of the Department of Pedagogy Oleh Yeresko made a presentation "Methods of Education in Students of Healthy Lifestyle". In particular, he focused on the disclosure of modern understanding of the concept of "healthy lifestyle", the method of educating students about healthy lifestyle. The speaker gave examples of effective education of a healthy lifestyle (a positive example, involvement in sports, providing educational work among students, developing individual projects of healthy lifestyle, conducting workshops on the preparation of healthy nutrition, settling students with bad habits separately in the hostel, the introduction of penalties for smoking, lecturing, etc.). Oleh Viktorovych also advised the participants of the seminar to avoid the destructive effects of stress..

  

Associate Professor Lyudmyla Omelchenko, Associate Professor of the Department of Psychology, continued the seminar with the topic "Methods of preventing bullying (student hounding) in student groups". The problem of harassment and persecution in the student environment, the ability of the teaching and pedagogical community to prevent and overcome this negative phenomenon, especially hidden in the youth, student society, have been enlightened, perceived, and approved ways of overcoming aggression and bullying manifestations. Lyudmyla Mykolaivna informed the faculty about the causes of aggression in student groups and methods of their prevention.
According to the participants of the seminar, the speakers' reports were clearly outlined, well-formed, well presented and well discussed.
In conclusion, the moderator of the meeting Ruslan Sopivnyk thanked the speakers and participants for their fruitful work, emphasized the importance of the mentoring work and noted the demands placed on the scientific and pedagogical worker by the Rector of the University, corresponding member of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Stanislav Nikolaenko that the teacher should not only calculate the amount of knowledge, skills and know-hows acquired by the student in a single time, but also think about what kind of person we are educating, because knowledge without morality is a sword in the hands of a madman.
