Meeting of leaders of National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine with representatives of company «Pioneer»

    On October 19, 2011 meeting with company “Pioneer” was held under chairmanship of Rector of the University Academician D.O. Melnychuk. Dubrovin V.O., Acting Vice-rector for Scientific and Innovative Activity, Melnychuk S.D. Director of ERI of Bioresources Quality and Life Safety, Demydas G.I., Deputy Director of ERI of Plant Science, Ecology and Biotechnologies, Likar Y.O., Dean of Faculty of Plant Protection, Linichenko K.G., Assistant to Rector on International and Foreign-economic activity, and Vaschyk M.S. , Assistant to Rector on International Issues took part in the meeting. Company «Pioneer» was presented by Chaba Molnar - Head of economic activity of «Pioneer» in Ukraine and Russia, Michael Sharov - Manager of Strategic Planning of «Pioneer» and Dennis Judd - Director of Marketing and Product Strategies of ACEA (Asia, China, Europe, Africa).

The company "Pioneer", head office is in De Moines, Iowa, USA, develops, manufactures and sells a wide range of high quality seeds and microbiologic products, serving clients in almost 100 countries.
    In Ukraine Company "Pioneer" sells hybrid corn, sunflower and oil rape seed, and also silage inoculums.
During meeting were discussed issues of further cooperation between NUBiP of Ukraine and company «Pioneer». In particular, the creation of modern agricultural center on a basis of one of the research farms of NUBiP of Ukraine, where students will have the opportunity of practical training.
At the end of the meeting (negotiations), it was agreed that the University will prepare a proposal for this project and will send their representatives to the «Pioneer» in Ukraine. Also for detailed elaboration of the future project it was decided to establish a working group in this direction.
