Conference "Aerospace Observations for Sustainable Development and Security"

On June 14-17, 2010 at the territory of National Technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” (37 Peremogy Avenue, Kyiv-56, 03056, Ukraine) the second conference “Aerospace observations for sustainable development and security” will be held.

Organizers: National Space Agency of Ukraine (NSAU), National Academy of Science of Ukraine (NASU) , Institute of Space Researches of NASU-NSAU (ISR NASU-NSAU), National Technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”, (NTUU “KPI”), Ukrainian Academy of Agricultural Sciences (UAAS), National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine (NUBiP of Ukraine). Ministries on agreement.

Purpose: To discuss the status and prospects of aerospace information for solving of actual promlems with natural management, sustainable development and security within Ukraine's participation in international programs GEOSS, GMES, INSPIRE and creation of the Ukrainian segment of GEOSS (system GEO-UA). Expected participation of representatives of international organizations, foreign partners, research centers and ministries of Ukraine.

The current issues of aerospace data using in solving following problems:

• risk assessment: floods, forest and steppe fires, water, soil and atmosphere pollution;
• climate change;
• management and protection of ecosystems;
• research of the seas and oceans;
• Performance evaluation and prediction of crop yield.

The exhibition holding is planned, where developers of GIS systems and satellite monitoring will be given the opportunity to show their developments. As conditions of participation please contact [email protected].
