A delegation from the Swedish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce in Scandinavia paid an official visit to the NUBiP of Ukraine

On May 06, 2025, a delegation from Sweden, the Swedish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce in Scandinavia paid an official visit to the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine.

The delegation included representatives of several leading Swedish companies, including Aityr AB, which specializes in AI, IoT and C-UAS systems (Andre Catry), Aquilon Solutions AB, which deals with digitalization, cybersecurity and document automation (Johan Harding), Spacemetric AB, which works with satellite and aerial image processing (Lars Edgardh), Soya Group AB, which specializes in maritime logistics and port infrastructure (Mikael Kellerman), and T-Kartor AB, which deals with mapping, geoinformation and mine clearance (Tore Brenden).
The team from the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine was represented by: Olena GLAZUNOVA, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work and Digital Transformation; Oleksandr SOSHENSKYI, Head of the International Projects Office; Volodymyr OTCHENASHKO, Head of the Research Department; Roman RUDENSKYI, Professor of the Department of Computer Science; Viktor MYRONIUK, Professor of the Department of Forest Mensuration and Forest Management; Andrii BILOUS, Head of the Department of Forest Mensuration and Forest Management; Svitlana KALENSKA, Head of the Department of Crop Growing; Serhii HOLOPURA, Director of the Research Institute of Animal Health; Valeriia BONDAR, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Plant Protection, Biotechnology and Ecology for Scientific Work; Volodymyr BULHAKOV, Head of the Department of Mechanics; Anatolii BYKIN, Professor of the Department of Agricultural Chemistry and Quality of Plant Products; Dmytro LITVINOV, Acting Head of the Department of Agricultural Chemistry and Quality of Plant Products; Liudmyla SHEVCHUK, Director of the Research Institute of Plant Production, Professor of the Department of Horticulture; Ruslan KONONENKO, Dean of the Faculty of Livestock Raising and Water Bioresources.



The meeting focused on agrarian innovations, humanitarian demining and post-war recovery. The team of NUBiP of Ukraine introduced the peculiarities of organizing scientific and innovative activities of the university under martial law, challenges for the environment, agricultural sector and public safety related to the impact of the war. The university's achievements and experience in implementing international projects such as Horizon Europe, Erasmus+, COST, CRDF, British Council, DAAD, and others were presented. The university also emphasized the importance of restoring agricultural land damaged by the war and developing recommendations for its reclamation. The presentation also emphasized the importance of education as the main engine of the country's recovery, the formation of new skills and knowledge to ensure sustainable development in various sectors of the economy. In particular, the educational programs of the University were mentioned, including 50 bachelor's, 70 master's and 37 doctoral programs.



In the context of the current scientific research of the University, the main scientific areas of the University were presented, including:
- Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine (agroecological intensification for crop production; humanitarian demining and restoration of agricultural land; soil remediation in risky farming conditions; development of innovative agro-engineering solutions for modeling raw materials of a given composition).
- Engineering sciences (development of radiological protection systems for firefighters on radioactively contaminated lands; use of artificial intelligence for the restoration of agricultural lands; intelligent greenhouse management systems).
- Social sciences (development of human potential and involvement of young scientists in scientific projects; legal support of agro-ecological development of Ukraine during the war and post-war period).
- Humanities and Arts (integration of sustainable development principles into curricula; introduction of new technologies in veterinary medicine).
- Information technologies (application of artificial intelligence technologies in public administration; development of biotechnology and digital skills in climate-controlled agriculture; interactive advisory systems and digitalization of business, education and science).
- Ecology and environmental protection (impact of war on the environment and recommendations for land reclamation; monitoring of heavy metal residues, explosives and changes in key indicators in soil and water contaminated by military operations).













The parties discussed the possibilities of cooperation in humanitarian demining and post-war reconstruction, the use of the latest technologies such as unmanned aerial vehicles, robotic land demining machines, artificial intelligence, problems with forest conservation, challenges in livestock and agriculture caused by military operations, satellite monitoring, disposal of explosive ordnance, soil contamination by batteries from unmanned aerial vehicles and military equipment, as well as other areas, relevant to Ukraine's recovery.

The visit of the Swedish delegation to NUBiP was an important step in strengthening cooperation between Ukraine and Sweden, especially in the context of restoring agriculture and infrastructure after the russian aggression. The parties expressed interest in further developing partnership in areas of mutual interest.
