Knowledge is power: an open lecture was held at the university
The night has gone by. And we thank the Armed Forces for everything they do for all of us. But when they wake up, they all rush to class, because today is Latin! There is not a dead silence here, but a constant dialog between students and the teacher. It will be a class where the lecturer, Doctor of Philology, Professor of the Department of Philosophy and International Communication Vasyl Shynkaruk will open the veil of knowledge, and everyone will plunge into those ancient times when Latin was the language of international and interstate communication.
An open class. The apple has nowhere to fall. Freshmen philologists, shouting “Salvete!”, sit at the tables of such a spacious and cozy auditorium in the 3rd building of the NULES of Ukraine. Among those invited were the dean of the faculty of humanities and pedagogy Inna Savytska, the head of the department Valentyna Kultenko, associate professors Iryna Vakulyk and Svitlana Heiko, and assistant professor Oksana Prytyka.
Having mastered the material on phonetics in the previous lectures, future translators are turning to morphology, focusing on the already known vocabulary and word formation, which are essential for the transition to systematic reading and mastering the art of hermeneutics of original Latin texts, studying the peculiarities of archaic, late, vernacular and medieval language and literature, as well as the system of modern terminology.
The class was delivered at a high scientific and methodological level in accordance with the terms of the educational and professional program.
Emotions overwhelmed the audience. Students shared their impressions and filled out questionnaires. See you next time, Professor!
