Faculty of training and retraining of specialists of agricultural and environmental sectors

During this relatively short period of time 3.883 students were trained in the faculty, including: 1150 – scientific-pedagogical and educational specialists, 2487 specialists and professionals of the Veterinary Service of Ukraine, 246 consultants and experts-consultants. During this time 423 students received a second degree. Faculty of training and retraining of specialists of agricultural and environmental sectors is a structural unit of Educational and Research Institute of Continuing Education of NUBiP of Ukraine. The main objective if the faculty is retraining if specialists of AIC, training and retraining of scientific-pedagogical and teaching staff of agrarian institutions of higher education, educational work on the programs of training and retraining of specialists of AIC for receiving the second higher education under the accredited specialties. Thanks to the efforts of the faculty workers contingent of students of the training and retraining programs of the second higher education is being increased year after year: from 213 in 2005 to 654 in 2008. Postgraduate education, continuous retraining of specialists, scientific-pedagogical and educational staff in the network of information-oriented society, integration of national education with European educational space, wide exchange of experience are carried out on professional programs, programs of thematic and short seminars, and are aimed at guaranteeing renovation and improvement of skills and knowledge. Educational work on the faculty is carried out in such activity categories as: retraining of civil servants, leaders and specialists of AIC; training of personnel of AIC (under the contract); training of masters in specialty “Civil service”. Retraining of civil servants, leaders of enterprises, institutions and organizations of different forms of ownership is carried out in such programs: professional; programs of thematic and short seminars, study courses. Training of managerial personnel reserve of AIC is carried out (under contracts) for managerial bodies of AIC, stare and private agro-formations. Training of masters under specialty “Civil service” is carried out with due account taken of the specificity of state administration of AIC and meets the requirements of labour market in this sphere, and resulted into implementation of Master program “Civil service” of managerial direction, namely: sustainable development of rural territories and self-government of territorial communities; public administration of social-economic relations in AIC; public administration of legal organizational and staff assistance in AIC; public administration of land resources and their preservation; public administration of ecological safety; administration of forestry and horticulture; public administration in the sphere of veterinary; public administration of engineering and technical support in AIC; public administration of crop sector; public administration of livestock sector and water bioresources. Special attention during the trai ning of students is paid to the questions of public management and civil service, state of executive discipline in executive bodies and arrangements aimed at their consolidation, strategy of economic and social development of Ukraine, Ukraine’s integration into the European Union, Ukraine’s joining the World Trade Organization, personnel policy, attestation and professional training, formation of personnel reserve, prevention and resistance of manifestations of corruption, innovation activity, reformation of agrarian sector of economy, legal relationship, foreign economic relations, exchange and business activity, up-to-date achievements in production and scientific research, computer technologies, creation of agrarian information system etc. Courses are provided through collaboration with the basic subdepartments of parietal educational and research centres of institutes. Rector of the university, hero of Ukraine, academician Melnychuk D., the minister of agricultural policy Melnyk Yu., deputy ministers Gadzalo Ya., Melnyk S., heads of departments and state committees, chief and key specialists, scientists are regular lecturers at the faculty. Postgraduate education at the faculty is regarded not only as a system of training and retraining of certified specialists, but also as form of adult education, based on their individual needs to acquire certain knowledge, personality and professional growth. Graduates The prides of the faculty are our graduates and students, who occupy a worthy place in society and are actively influencing on its development. Here are some of them: deputy of Ukraine Katerynchuk Mykola, chairman of the management board, executive director of public corporation “Cherkasyoblenergo” Vlasenko Yuri, deputy head of Holosiivskyi district administration of Kyiv Danevych Mykola and others, who are key specialists in agrarian sphere, bodies of government and local self-management, public prosecutor's office, police etc.

Cooperation Training process on the faculty involves basic subdepartments of educational and research centres of Institutes of NUBiP, departments, laboratories of research institutes of Ukrainian Academy of Agrarian Sciences, Laboratory of Quality and Safety of Agricultural Products, departments of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine, main administrations, departments of agricultural development and regional state administrations, State Inspection of Ukraine for Control over Land Use and Protection, National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service, research and development centres and farms of NUBiP, leading agroformations of AIC.
