The Evening of Sporting Glory

        On April 24, 2014 NULES of Ukraine conducted the evening of sporting glory dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Department of Physical Education.

Each year, more than two thousand students and employees of the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine take part in sports competitions, therefore the evening was a real holiday for everyone.

The opening speech was given by the Head of the University, Academician, Dmytro O. Melnychuk. Among the guests of the evening were the Head of the Department of the Committee for Physical Education and Sport, V.F. Panchenko, the Chairman of the Central Council of Kolos Sport Association, O.P. Mendos, World and European Champion in Powerlifting, the President of the Powerlifting Federation of Ukraine, a graduate of the Faculty of Economics, Serafutdin Bazaev, the First Deputy Head of  Golosiyivska District Administration in Kyiv, O. Yu. Kalugin, the Head of the University Campus, D.Yu. Kalinichenko and others. All speakers expressed their appreciation of the educational work conducted by the Department.

The participants of the evening expressed their sincere gratitude to the Veterans of the Department and commemorated the memory of the fallen in the Great Patriotic War by laying flowers at the University Memorial.

The celebration was continued by announcing the results of the competitions among the teams of the basic institution and the separated subdivisions of the University (Nizhin Agrotechnical Institute, Bereshany Agrotechnical Institute, Bobrovytsya College of Economics and Management named after O. Maynova, Irpin Economic College, Nemishaevo Agrotechical College, and Boyarka College of Ecology and Natural Resources) dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Department of Physical Education.

The award ceremony was conducted by the Head of the Education and Research Centre for Educational Work and Social Development, D.K. Cherkashyn .

A real gem of the evening were performances of the children group of the Kyokushin Karate section, girl team of the University dance aerobics team and martial arts representatives.
