Rector Stanislav Nikolayenko paid a working visit to Georgia as a part of the government delegation

    On July 20-21, 2021, rector of NUBiP of Ukraine Stanislav Nikolayenko paid a working visit to Georgia as part of a delegation of leading higher education institutions headed by the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, Serhiy Shkarlet. The purpose of the trip was to expand the cooperation between two countries. The program of the visit included a number of bilateral meetings at the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, the Committee on Education and Science of the Parliament of Georgia, the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia and Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation and a number of higher education institutions.

    The visit began with an extended meeting with the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli, and the representatives of the Committee on Education and Science of the Parliament of Georgia. The participants discussed the expansion of cooperation possibilities, academic mobility and the resumption of cooperation in science and technology. Rector Stanislav Nikolayenko expressed readiness to help in the development of agricultural universities and veterinary medicine. This branch was severely influenced by previous unsuccessful reforms and now needs particular help and attention.
 

    On July 21, Rector Stanislav Nikolayenko and his colleagues visited Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia, which distributes 60% of the funds allocated for science. Head of this institution, Jaba Samushiya, focused on the foundation's mission to support the new generation of Georgian scientists, increase research capacity at research institutions and communities, and promote integration of Georgian scientists into the international scientific community by improving the quality, relevance and competitiveness of innovative research. All this is the basis for cooperation with Ukrainian scientists, especially in the field of agriculture

    Afterwards, the delegation visited the Georgian Technical University, where they got acquainted with the peculiarities of the educational process and research during the COVID-19 pandemic.

    Lastly, the delegation visited the Tbilisi City Council, where they learned about the experience of cooperation between the city authorities and educational institutions.
