Ukraine - South Korea: NUBiP of Ukraine and Korea Rural Economic Institute signed cooperation agreement
On November 28, 2018, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Ukraine, Mr. Lee Yang-goo, visited NUBiP of Ukraine. This time he was accompanied by the President of Korea Rural Economic Institute, Kim Chang-Gil, Doctor of Agrarian Economics Choi Ji-hyun, Doctor of Agrarian Economics Kim Chong-san, Doctor of Agrarian Economics Cha Won-Kyu, representative of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Development Chong Chong-ji, Chief of the Korean Village Community Department Choi Ho-jin and his Deputy Pak Jai-hoong, Head of the Economic Co-operation Department of the Presidential Committee on North Economic Cooperation Guo Bong-jan, and Secretary of the Presidential Committee on North Economic Cooperation Kim Gyu-Yol.
Rector Stanislav Nikolayenko presented main fields of scientific and educational activity of NUBiP of Ukraine.
President of Korea Rural Economic Institute, Kim Chang-Gil, made a presentation about the Institute and its work. Several facts about the Institute: it was established in 1978; it employs over 300 scientists; the annual budget of the Institute is about 35 million euros; scientists of the Institute carry out strategic research in increasing added value in agriculture. Three of 14 presidents of the Institute were later prime ministers of South Korea. The President of the Institute highlighted his interest in creating and developing a "silk agricultural path" between Ukraine and Korea, as well as signing a cooperation agreement.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Ukraine, Mr. Lee Yang-goo, noted that he feels himself at home at NUBiP of Ukraine and expressed his confidence in further successful cooperation.
Rector Stanislav Nikolayenko gave instructions to develop a roadmap of cooperation.
As a result of the meeting, the agreement on cooperation between NUBiP of Ukraine and Korea Rural Economic Institute (Republic of Korea) was signed.
