The Department of English for Technical and Agrobiological Specialities was established by NULES of Ukraine (at that time NAU) Rector’s decree on the 29th of September, 2002. From the time of its foundation till January 2013 the Head of the Department was the Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor A. D. Oliinyk. From January 2013 till June 2015 the Head of the Department was the Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor O. V. Voshchevska. From June 2015 till September 2018 the Department was led by the Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor O. V. Ivanova. From October 2018 till November 2022 the Department was led by the Candidate of Philological Sciences I. V. Grabovska.
Currently, the acting head of the department is Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor M.O. Sopiga. The academic and teaching staff of the department includes two Candidates of Pedagogical Sciences, one Candidate of Historical Sciences, and one Candidate of Philological Sciences. The faculty members continually enhance their qualifications through internships at foreign universities, participation in educational and methodological seminars, and presentations at international conferences.
The main aim of teaching and studying the academic disciplines of the Department of English for Technical and Agrobiological Specialities is to prepare competitive specialists and creative personalities for effective communication in English in educational and professional environments. The Department provides training in English for full-time and part-time students of Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in the following fields of study: 03 Humanities, 13 Mechanical Engineering, 14 Electrical Engineering, 15 Automation and Instrumentation, 16 Chemical and Bioengineering Technologies, 19 Architecture and Construction, 20 Agrarian Sciences and Food, 23 Social Work, 27 Transport.
