International students: NUBiP of Ukraine ensures high quality education

November 15, 2017

In recent years our university has become an attractive higher educational establishment for international students. Many of them participate in various international programs which enable them to study at NUBiP of Ukraine. A grant holder of Mevlana exchange program Nılüfer Şen is studying at our university this year. University press journalists were attending a presentation workshop and asked Nılüfer some questions about her studies at National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine.

1. Why did you make your choice to become a food engineer?
In all times food production has been the most important domain of economy. Our countries have much in common and at the same time Ukrainian and Turkish cuisines differ much in food processing. I have always been interested in cooking, especially how to feed a large amount of people what technologies to use, how to control the process of food production. That is why I made my choice to work in the sphere of food engineering to become an expertise in this area and to learn more about the commercialization of food production.

2. What does your future career involve?
I am studying to become a food engineer. I will use my knowledge of food processing, food machinery, food control to provide high quality food experience for food industry. That is why it is necessary to get to know about how food engineers in other countries do it.

3. What year are you in?
Back home I had studied this specialty for three years and in order to become more competitive I decided to get new experience while studying abroad.

4. How did you learn about this program?
National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine and Manisa Celal Bayar University have an agreement on cooperation. According to this agreement students of both institutions are able to study in each university participating in different exchange programs. My friends told me about this program which provides Turkish students with an opportunity to spend one or two semesters in Ukraine at your university. NUBiP of Ukraine is a truly international university. Your professors expect students to be industrious and initiative while the university channels all resources into ensuring we (students) get the best education possible. This is what I can call high quality education. I was eager to study here so I did my best to win.

5. Have you come here alone?
Yes, I have. It was my firm decision to study at this university so I stood a chance to become an exchange student and here I am. Though I was a bit scared before leaving my home country but when I came here and stepped on Ukrainian land, by the way it was early in morning, I did not feel any inconvenience.

6. What difficulties are you encountering in Ukraine?
The main difficulty for me is the lack of knowledge. But my Ukrainian friends and university professors do a lot to help me overcome this difficulty. I attend lectures, seminars and workshops in English. My friends speak English with me.

7. What impressed you most?
The first thing that impressed me most is Ukrainian hospitability. All people whom I meet are rather helpful and I do not have any problems with accommodation and meals. I have already seen much in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine and enjoy the unique beauty of Ukraine. Autumn is really awesome, especially here , in Holosiievo. The campus of NUBiP of Ukraine is incredible. I fell in love with this territory and catch any opportunity to walk around the university campus. The weather is great though it is much colder here than it is in Izmir, my home city. But I like staying in Ukraine and when I am proud of myself that I am here at National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine.
