International Activity
An international activity of the Department of English for Technical and Agrobiological Specialties is carried out in framework of implementation of the University development program «Holosiivs’ka Innitiative - 2020». Research-pedagogical staffs of the department work on the strategy implementation for the international activities, expansion and deepening of international relations contributing to the development of international cooperation in the field of education and science.
The international activities of the department are carried out in the following areas:
• academic and scientific cooperation with international scientific and cultural centers in Ukraine;
• students and university staff aiding in participating in international programs and passing an international certified English language exam APTIS (British Council);
• training of foreign students;
• organization and assistance of teaching staff and students’ mobility;
• continued participation in seminars, lectures, roundtable discussions, workshops and trainings of America House, Cambridge University Press, Express Publishing, Dinternal Education, British Council;
• foreign internship of the research-pedagogical staffs of the Department;
• foreign delegations support;
• organization of students meetings with the representatives of international companies;
• participation in international exhibitions;
• the University advertising abroad during the participation of research-pedagogical staffs in symposia, forums, conferences, congresses and seminars;
• innovative projects development and implementation;
• search for international programs and projects followed by participation;
International scientific-practical seminar «Qualitative English with Pearson». A special guest was the director of British missions in Ukraine, methodologist and teacher Mike Hudson (02.27.2018).
International scientific-methodical seminar «ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME? LISTENING SKILLS ENHANCING». At the Department it has already become a tradition to invite the speaker Olena Khorosh, the methodologist of a company «Folio Books» (an official representative of Express Publishing in Ukraine) to such seminars (24.03.2018 р.).
International scientific-methodical seminar «The Art of Making Еffective Presentations in English». Regular meetings with the methodologist and consultant of the company «Folio Books», «Express Publishing», Olena Khorosh have become a good tradition for the research-pedagogical staffs of the faculty of humanities and pedagogy (28.10.2019).
International research and practice seminar «APTIS: Assess English Skills» (15.11.2018).
From April 21 to May 5, 2018, the assistant professor of the department Lyudmila Berezova was on an internship at Rzeszow University, Poland.
On October 29, 2019, with the assistance of the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Pedagogy, Doctor of Philology, Professor Vasil’ Shinkaruk, the research-pedagogical staffs of the Department of English for technical and agrobiological specialties held an international research and practice seminar «Rethinking Environmental Protection: Meeting the Challenges of a Changing World». Its purpose was to form students' ideas about the relationship between man and nature, to cultivate a caring attitude to living nature, to focus on the environmental problems of our planet, since each person should be at the same time harmonious in his attitude to nature. The guest speaker was Brooke Alexander Manning, a Peace Corps volunteer from the United States.
With the assistance of the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Pedagogy, Doctor of Philology, Professor Vasil’ Shinkaruk, the implementation of a joint project with the British Council and the scientific-practical center «Dzherelo» on the level improving of English proficiency among the lecturers of the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine continues. On November 12, 2019, hosted by the Faculty of Humanities and Pedagogy, the testing of research-pedagogical staffs of the Department of English for technical and agrobiological specialties was conducted to determine the level of knowledge of the English language using the electronic test format APTIS (British Council).
