Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Sultanate of Oman Olha Selykh visited NUBiP of Ukraine

On August 15, 2025, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Sultanate of Oman Olha SELYKH visited the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine. The decree on her appointment was signed by the president of Ukraine only a few weeks ago, and one of the first areas of acquaintance with the scientific and educational potential of the country was the meeting with the NUBiP of Ukraine.
Rector of the University Vadym TKACHUK congratulated the Ambassador and spoke about the activities and international projects of the NUBiP of Ukraine, as well as scientific developments in the field of agriculture, nature management and innovative technologies.
Olha SELYKH visited the educational and scientific laboratories of the agrobiological faculty and the Institute of forestry and park gardening, in particular the laboratory of unmanned technologies and remote forest monitoring. She highly appreciated the technical equipment and practical orientation of students' training, noting that such modern laboratories can be not only a training ground, but also an innovation center for joint international research.
During the meeting, the possibilities of cooperation between NUBiP of Ukraine and business, government structures of the Sultanate of Oman were discussed. Among the promising areas are joint scientific research on the cultivation of crops adapted to the conditions of the desert climate, the development of precision irrigation systems and agricultural technologies for optimal use of water resources, as well as training specialists for the agricultural sector of Oman within the framework of academic exchanges.
According to the Ambassador, the Sultanate of Oman has a significant interest in innovations in agriculture and Ukrainian scientists can become reliable partners in introducing modern technologies into production.
The visit ended with an agreement to prepare specific proposals for the implementation of joint projects and organize subsequent contacts between NUBiP and Omani partners.
