11 November 2024, 10:10

This week, the teaching and research staff of the Department of English for Technical and Agrobiological Specialties held three meetings with colleagues from other universities.
Acting Head of the Department, Mykhailo Sopiga, accompanied by colleagues, visited the Department of Foreign Languages and Teaching Methods at Kremenets Regional Humanities and Pedagogical Academy named after Taras Shevchenko.

Assistant Lecturer Olena Turytsyna organized a visit by her colleagues to the Department of Social and Humanitarian Disciplines at the Kyiv Cooperative Institute of Business and Law, upon the kind invitation of the Head of the Department, Ms. Inna Prudchenko.

Assistant Lecturer Tetiana Voznyuk invited her colleagues to join an online visit to the Department of Foreign Languages and Professional Communication at Lviv State University of Internal Affairs.

All the meetings were productive and meaningful. Discussions included possible forms of collaboration between departments, such as sharing experiences, exchanging methodological materials, and developing joint academic programs. Colleagues reviewed each department's teaching methods aimed at enhancing students’ linguistic and intercultural competence and participated in discussions on successful methodologies, approaches to professional English learning, and ideas for implementing joint educational projects (online courses, lectures, seminars) for university students.

Attention was also given to organizing cross-cultural events (e.g., themed evenings, conferences) where students could practice English and develop cultural understanding skills.
The agenda also included the development of joint methodological materials such as electronic textbooks, workbooks, case studies, and interactive assignments tailored to student needs, along with organizing training sessions, workshops, and seminars to enhance the qualifications of department faculty in intercultural communication and integrating English with professional training.

Each meeting concluded with agreement on next steps, including drafting a working plan and assigning responsibilities among faculty members of the partner departments.

Finally, NUBiP faculty invited their colleagues to visit NUBiP’s Botanical Garden, which they gladly accepted. Together, they walked along the ecological trail.
