Botanical garden - the best location for an English language club
To learn a foreign language as a means of communication, it is essential to create conditions for real interaction, actively using the language in natural situations.
Senior lecturer Mykola Koromysel, from the Department of English for Technical and Agrobiological Specialties, conducted a series of sessions for members of the language club in the botanical garden of NULES of Ukraine.
The relaxed atmosphere, excellent surroundings, fresh air, and students’ strong motivation to learn a foreign language created psychological and didactic conditions that fostered their desire to study the language. These sessions stimulated their communicative needs to explore the world of their international peers and to use the foreign language for these purposes. Through the use of a foreign language, students develop a foundational interest in the linguistic and cultural diversity of the world while also improving their memory.
The club, led by Senior Lecturer Mykola Koromysel of the Department of English for Technical and Agrobiological Specialties, helps students develop the ability to use a foreign language as a tool for communication in the dialogue between cultures and civilizations in today’s world.
During the club sessions, students enhance their knowledge, skills, and abilities, realizing the practical importance of a foreign language for communication and information gathering. These activities allow them to spend their free time productively. The club prepares them to participate in events conducted in the target language, promoting their personal growth, self-discovery, self-assertion, and self-expression. The thematic content of the club's curriculum complements and deepens classroom materials, ensures stronger retention, connects with students’ lives, and stimulates their need for communication.
The improvement, deepening, and expansion of English language knowledge occurs through active communicative and speech activities. These take place in an atmosphere of trust, ease, and friendliness, creating a motivational foundation for unlimited interaction.
