The teaching staff of the Department of Theory and History of the State and Law at the expanded Academic Council of the Faculty of Law

            On August 16, 2024, an expanded Academic Council was held at the Faculty of Law, which became an important platform for discussing key issues regarding the organization of the educational process, scientific, international activities and educational work of the Faculty.

The dean of the Faculty of Law, Olena Yara, opening the meeting, drew attention to the challenges facing the faculty in connection with the martial law introduced in Ukraine. Issues of adapting educational programs to new conditions were discussed, including ensuring continuity of education and supporting students who are in war zones, abroad or have limited access to the Internet.

In the context of educational work, emphasis was placed on maintaining the morale of students and teachers, organizing psychological assistance and developing volunteer activities, which is an important component of the faculty's social responsibility. For the next academic year, key tasks have been defined, including improvement of curricula and programs taking into account modern requirements of the labor market, strengthening of practical training of students and increasing the publication activity of scientific and pedagogical workers.

The Department of Theory and History of the State and Law has begun a new stage of development under the leadership of Iryna Yermolenko, who currently serves as the head of the department. At the meeting of the department, new initiatives aimed at improving scientific research were actively discussed, which consists in increasing publication activity in the scientific and metric databases Scopus and Web of Science and strengthening career guidance work, in particular, regarding the change of the concept of the "School of Legal Experts", supplementing it with a practical component , which will make it possible to implement the acquired theoretical knowledge in practice together with students of the second (master's) level of higher education majoring in "Law" when they prepare individual projects during the study of the discipline "Democracy: from theory to practice". With the beginning of the new academic year, the department gains new strength and energy, which opens up prospects for significant progress in all areas of its activity.

The expanded academic council confirmed the faculty's readiness for new challenges and tasks. The Faculty of Law will continue to actively work on improving the educational process, scientific activity and educational work, in particular in the conditions of martial law. Priority tasks for the next year remain the provision of quality education, scientific research and student support.
