September meeting of the FHP Academic Council

On September 22, 2023, a regular meeting of the Academic Council of the faculty of humanities and pedagogy was held remotely. The agenda includes the organization of free choice of academic disciplines by students and topical issues of the faculty's life.

 


At the beginning of the meeting, the chairman of the Academic Council Inna Savytska introduced new members of the Academic Council of the faculty of humanities and pedagogyKhvist Viktoria Oleksiivna, acting head of the department of international relations and social sciences, candidate of historical sciences, ass. prof.; Klymenko Lyudmyla Volodymyrivna, acting head of the department of English philology; Navalna Maryna Ivanivna, acting head of the department of journalism and public communication, doctor of philology, prof.; Rudenko Valentyna Serhiivna, deputy chairman of the Senate of the student organization of the FHP.


 

The deputy dean Ihor Butsykreported on the organization of free choice of academic disciplines by students of the faculty of humanities and pedagogy at the September meeting . According to Article 62, paragraph 15 of the law of Ukraine "On higher education", students have the right to choose academic subjects within the limits provided for in the relevant educational program and curriculum, in the amount of at least 25% of the total number of credits provided for this level of higher education. Teaching of selective disciplines is provided by research and teaching staff of educational and scientific institutes and faculties whose names are indicated in the list of selective disciplines. In his report Ihor Mykhailovych analyzed topical issues of organizing students' choice of academic disciplines, the list of disciplines of free choice in the specialty, problematic issues in organizing the choice of faculty disciplines, the results of choosing Masters in the 2023-2024 academic year, etc. The discussion was attended by Prof.  Mykola Maksyuta, prof. Vitaly Shmarhun, prof. Svitlana Amelina and other members and all those present of the Academic Council.


Head of the department of foreign philology and translation Svitlana Amelina reported on changes in the structure of the faculty of humanities and pedagogy. Members of the Academic Council of the faculty positively approved the new structural divisions – the training and Consulting Center for the study of foreign languages and admission of entrance exams to graduate school and the training laboratory "simultaneous translation Laboratory") – which arose as a result of the unification of departments.


 

"Philosophical dimensions of military existence: before the reign of the Ukrainian time of the Minerva owl", professor of the department of philosophy and international communication made such an up-to-date scientific report Mykola Maksyuta. In his research work, the theoretical foundations of the philosophy of military existence were presented: historical-philosophical, ethical-political dimensions of solidarization of Ukrainian society and overcoming the experience of anxiety of subjective existence. The discussion was attended by a professor of the department of journalism and language communication Tetiana Semashko, head of the department of pedagogy Ruslan Sopivnyk, head of the department of philosophy and international communication Valentyna Kultenko.


Chairman of the educational and methodological Council of the faculty of humanities and pedagogy Svitlana Amelina proposed to approve the updated composition of the council, removing it from the educational and methodological Council of the faculty of humanities and pedagogy in connection with retirement or transition to another place of work.: Zhuravska Nina StanislavivnaKrasnov Valeriy Pavlovych and Lychuk Maria Ivanivna, and introduce into the educational and methodological Council of the faculty of humanities and pedagogy: Vasyl Hryhorovych Bazelyuk - candidate of pedagogical sciences, associate professor, associate professor of the department of management and educational technologies; Brynzak Sava Savovych - candidate of sciences in physical education, associate professor, associate professor of the department of physical education; Holtsov Andriy Hennadiyovych - doctor of political sciences, professor, professor of the department of philosophy and international communication; Shanaeva-Tsymbal Lyudmyla Oleksiivna - candidate of sciences in public administration, associate professor, associate professor of the department of English philology. The Academic Council unanimously approved the updated composition of the council, thus ensuring representation of members of all departments. The meeting reviewed and recommended textbooks and guidelines for publication.


Members of the Academic Council also considered other important issues of life activity of the faculty of humanities and pedagogy.

Chairman of the Academic Council Inna Savytska thanked the members of the Academic Council for their activity, advice and recommendations that were made at the meeting, wished everyone victory, peace and continue to be a friendly team.
