Young Scientists From the ERI of Power Engineering and Automation Shared Experience With the Scientists From Other Countries

October 17, 2014

     The II International Scientific and Practical Conference of Young Scientists “Renewable Energy, New Automated Electrical Technologies in Biotechnical Systems of Agricultural Complex” took place at the ERI of Power Engineering and Automation.
     The event brought together representatives of five countries – the Republic of Poland, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine – who outlined a wide range of issues and problems in the field of renewable energy, modern electrical technologies and automated systems.

     The conference consisted of 6 sections:

  • power supply systems based on traditional and renewable energy sources;
  • systems of autonomous power supply in rural areas;
  • innovative systems of power supply in agriculture;
  • innovative electrical technologies and systems of technical means in agriculture;
  • information management systems in agricultural production;
  • operation and reliability of devices and systems of power supply and energy consumption.

     Head of the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine, Stanislav Nikolayenko, visited the opening ceremony. In his speech he noted the topicality of the conference, expressed hope for cooperation with various research institutions and wished talented young people to seek and find new ways to address issues in the field of power engineering and to improve the efficiency of energy supply of agriculture in Ukraine.

     Head of the ERI of Power Engineering and Automation, Volodymyr V. Kozyrskyy joined the wishes of the Head of the University and noted enormous potential of young scientists and students in tackling current issues. Volodymyr Viktorovych wished the participants success and inspiration in scientific activities.
     The list of participants and their reports entirely corresponded to the status of an international conference. Therefore, it was hard for the jury, which consisted of the representatives of student organizations, Council of Young Scientists of the ERI of Power Engineering and Automation and the guests, to choose the best.

     The II International Scientific Conference of Young Scientists resulted in rewarding participants and winners with certificates:

      I place – representative of Poltava State Agricultural Academy, O.Yu. Bondarenko (Equipping an eco-house with life support systems);
       II place – Candidate of Technical Sciences, Senior Researcher of the Institute of Technical Thermophysics of the NAS of Ukraine, M.P. Novizka (Investigation of heat transfer processes in low-temperature water underfloor heating) and Candidate of Technical Sciences, Junior Researcher of the same institute, M.F. Kalinina (Experimental study of heat-moisture transfer through a multilayer wall);
     III place – Junior Researcher of the Institute of Technical Thermophysics of the NAS of Ukraine, L.M. Kuzhel (Energy efficient translucent structures), student of the National University “Lviv Polytechnic” V. Kravchyshyn (Intelligent means of forecasting wind parameters), 2nd year student of the Faculty of Computer Sciences and Economic Cybernetics of NULES of Ukraine, O.V. Sabischenko (Wind power plants as alternative energy saving technologies and energy supply).

     The works of the following participants were also highly appreciated: M.S. Bilyk (separated subdivision of NULES of Ukraine “Irpin Economic College”, supervisor – O.M. Petrashenko), P.G. Ohrimenko (NULES of Ukraine, supervisor – S.A. Shvorov), Yu.O. Oleinik (NULES of Ukraine, supervisor – A.V. Mishchenko), I.S. Zubkov (NULES of Ukraine, supervisor – O.O. Opryshko).

     The general conclusion after the II International Scientific and Practical Conference of Young Scientists “Renewable Energy, New Automated Electrical Technologies in Biotechnical Systems of Agricultural Complex” was the desire to continue and deepen cooperation between young scientists in the field of energy saving and energy efficiency.

Oleg M. Bereka,
Head of the Research Institute of Electric Power Systems
