Professor Andriy Martyn and Associate Professor Anton Koshel delivered online lectures to the students of the Institute of Geodesy and Geoinformatics of Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences

January 31, 2022
International cooperation is one of the priorities of the Faculty of Land Management, as the internationalization of activities at the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine is an important part of Holosiivska Initiative - 2025 program and a key vector for improving educational programs.

This week, Professor Andriy Martyn and Associate Professor Anton Koshel have delivered online lectures for the students of the Institute of Geodesy and Geoinformatics of Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences. The classes were organized with the support of Professor Olgerd Kemp, who has been working closely with the Faculty of Land Management for many years.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dean of the University of Wrocław, Professor of the Department of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing Peter Goluch and Dean of the Faculty of Land Management, Professor Taras Yevsyukov greeted the students and teachers and wished fruitful cooperation in 2022. Afterwards, the Head of the Department of Land Use Planning, Professor Andriy Martyn, acquainted the students of Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences with the digital transformation of land cadastral systems. As a rule, cadastral systems are quite conservative, and their modernization requires significant organizational and financial resources. However, Ukrainian experience in developing digital cadastral services and introduction of electronic document management in cadastral and registration activities is also useful for future Polish land managers. After the lecture there was a Q&A session.

In turn, Anton Koshel, a multiple fellow of Professor Stanislaw Tolpa Academic Internship Program at Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences, Associate Professor of Geoinformatics and Aerospace Research, delivered a presentation on the main aspects of land assessment in the world and in Ukraine. In particular, he noted the differences between the assessment systems of foreign countries and Ukraine, and expressed the need to move to a global assessment system, which would be an important reform step equally relevant for both Poland and Ukraine.

It should be noted that these are only the initial steps of all planned cooperation activities between NUBiP of Ukraine and Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences for 2022. In February-March, Professor of Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences Olgerd Kempa will deliver lectures to the students of the Faculty of Land Management of NUBiP of Ukraine on the experience of land assessment and land consolidation in the Republic of Poland.
