Ukraine-Slovenia: Developing a Program of Scientific and Technical Cooperation

     On July 14-20, a university delegation paid a working visit to the University of Primorska (Slovenia). NULES of Ukraine was represented by Acting Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Activities and University Development, Sergiy Kvasha and Associate Professor of the Department of Finance and Credit, Olena Oliynyk.


     The trip was the part of the research program of scientific and technical cooperation between Ukraine and the Republic of Slovenia. This project is aimed at creating an efficient financial system that would satisfy financial needs of agriculture in both countries. A plan for active collaboration was developed together with Professor of the University of Primorska, Stephen Boynez. Scientific achievements of the scientist include approximately 1120 biographical units and his research results are known far beyond his country.


     The participants of the trip summarized the results of previous cooperation. These include publication of scientific papers in the Bulgarian Journal of Agricultural Sciences. Also, the parties defined the next stages of joint research. It is planned to participate in the VII International Finance and Banking Forum (Warsaw, November 20-21, 2014), Development Prospects of Financial Security of Agro-food Production in Ukraine Conference (NULES of Ukraine, October 2-3, 2014) and XIV Congress of the European Association of Agricultural Economists (Ljubljana, August, 26-29 2014).


     The representatives of NULES of Ukraine also discussed further cooperation between the universities with the Dean of the Department of Management, Matthias Nowak. Signing of the corresponding agreement provides possibilities for academic exchange of teachers and students of both universities.
