Career guidance meetings of instructors of the department of Romance and Germanic languages and translation

One of the most important decisions in life is choosing a profession. All further destiny of the person can depend on its correctness. In order for graduates to consciously choose the field of future activity and learn as much as possible about the profession of philologist-translator, recognized as one of the most prestigious and needed, on January 12 scientific and pedagogical staff of the department of Romance and Germanic languages and translation Olena Turitsyna and Valentyna Borshchovetska held a career guidance meeting with graduates of the secondary school No. 90 in the Pechersk district of Kyiv.

Instructors presented the educational and professional program "English and second foreign language" of the first (bachelor's) level of higher education, told about the peculiarities of study, leisure at the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine, in particular at the faculty of humanities and pedagogy. During the meeting they provided comprehensive information on the conditions of admission to higher education, opportunities to reveal their abilities in scientific, public work, sports, cultural and mass activities, reported on the functioning of preparatory courses for IEE in NULES of Ukraine, University olympiad and presented information booklets

To bring career guidance information to graduates remote from the capital of schools, a meeting was held online on January 13, in particular for pupils of the Pulyuy secondary school of I-III degrees, village of Hrymayliv, Ternopil region.

The head of the department, doctor of philology, professor Maria Lychuk addressed the graduates with a welcoming speech. Maria Ivanivna emphasized the advantages of obtaining education at the faculty of humanities and pedagogy of NULES of Ukraine, presented the department of Romance and Germanic languages and translation, which provides training for students of educational qualification level "Bachelor", "Master" full-time and part-time study in specialty 035.041 “Philology (Germanic languages and literatures (translation included), English is the first)".

The moderator of the meeting - associate professor Oksana Tepla outlined the advantages of the profession of philologist-translator, the range of jobs where translators can work.

Oksana Mykolaivna stressed that on January 4, 2022 the registration for participation in the All-Ukrainian Olympiads of the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine for vocational guidance of entrants on the basis of complete general secondary education started, introduced pupils to the rules of registration by filling out a Google form, as well as invited to the Open door day.
Deputy head of the department Olena Turitsyna focused on the programs of academic mobility of students, the possibility of obtaining a double diploma, foreign internships.

Yuriy Rozhkov, a senior lecturer at the department, informed the students about the deadlines for applications and documents, competitive selection and enrollment, the list of documents that must be submitted to the admissions committee.
We hope that holding such events will be a guide for students in their further professional self-determination and will help to make the right choice of future profession.
