The President approved urgent measures to prevent fires in Ukraine
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree “On urgent measures to prevent fire danger in Ukraine”.

The purpose of the document is to prevent the occurrence of fires that pose a threat to human life and health, can cause substantial material damage, adversely affect the state of the environment, the economy and national security, as well as providing a quick response to such fires.
In particular, according to the decree, the Cabinet of Ministers must urgently ensure the development and submission of draft laws by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on strengthening administrative responsibility for violation of fire safety requirements (rules) established by law, unauthorized burning of vegetation or its residues.
Responsibility for non-provision of an advantage in the movement of vehicles of emergency services, ambulances, fire brigades and police, which move with special light or sound signaling devices, must also be increased.
In addition, the fire and rescue units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine should be provided with modern special equipment and rescue equipment for emergency evacuation of people, fire extinguishing equipment, and special clothing.
Particular emphasis is placed on the need to improve the material and social protection of employees of fire and rescue units, improve vocational training, retraining and advanced training of such workers.
Effective monitoring of the state of warning systems should also be established. In addition, it is necessary to stimulate the creation in rural areas of fire and rescue units (fire units) of voluntary fire protection.
