The achievements of PhD students of NULES of Ukraine are presented at Oxford University

According to the Times Higher Education's university rankings, this year, Oxford University was recognized as the best (position № 1) in terms of quality of teaching and research, the level of knowledge dissemination and innovation in the performance of universities based on financial performance.
Oxford has a distinctive collegiate structure. There are 38 Oxford colleges, which are financially independent and self-governing but relate to the central University in a kind of federal system.
University of Oxford is one of the oldest universities in Europe and the world, founded in 1117. More than a quarter of Oxford students are foreigners and among Oxford teachers and graduates are 40 Nobel laureates, 25 British prime ministers, 6 kings, 12 saints, about 50 Olympic medalists, about 20 top 100 business leaders in the world (FTSE 100) leading politicians, scholars, people of literature and the arts.
Last week, at one of the colleges of the University of Oxford, on the symposium «Emerging Viruses 2019» presented research materials on the revolutionary changes in the sources of rabies virus in Ukraine by our colleague from NUBIP, PhD student of the Department of epizootology and veterinary business organization - Iryna Makovska (supervisor Professor Nedosekov V.), who recently received the First Prize at the Warsaw Conference (https://nubip.edu.ua/node/61242) and the First Place Award and the International Symposium on Support of the USA Government, «One Health», https://nubip.edu.ua/node/61385.


This time Iryna won a Bogdan Solchanyk grant ( http://solchanykgrant.com ) and was selected for a report to Oxford University about the results of her dissertation.
It should be noted that Miss Makovska I.F. acted alongside professors, doctors and scientists from the UK, Belgium and Italy and was the sole representative of Eastern Europe.
At this symposium, such distinguished scientists as Professor Jonathan Heeney, University of Cambridge, UK, Professor Katie Ewer, University of Oxford, UK, Dr Janet Daly, University of Nottingham, UK, Dr Nigel Temperton, University of Kent, UK, Dr Mark Page, National Institute for Biological Standards and Control (NIBSC), UK, Dr Andrew Lane, The Native Antigen Company, UK, Dr Edward Wright, University of Sussex and many other researchers shared their knowledge http://lpmhealthcare.com/emerging-viruses-2019/speakers-agenda.
Irina's report was informative and raised a number of questions, which made it possible to explain more deeply the situation in Ukraine and to get the advice of world scientists.

It should be noted that the topic of rabies, raised by Makowska I.F. in Oxford remains relevant today.
So, on September 28, the World Community will celebrate World Rabies Day (WRD), which will be held at the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine. The event is organized by the head of the Department of Epizootology and Veterinary Business Organization and national expert on rabies, professor V. Nedosekov.
