University celebrated Independence day of Ukraine
August 23, 2016. On Flag Day and the 25th anniversary of Ukraine's Independence the university faculty gathered to celebrate this event.
Stanislav Nikolaenko, rector of the university says that we celebrate our statehood. Ukrainian people have strived for it for many years. Thousands and thousands of our ancestors put their lives for it. Unfortunately, today, in the twenty-first century our defenders shed their blood. But we will do everything to make Ukraine abloom.
The head of the university remembered the 24th of August, 1991, when Verhovna Rada of the USSR adopted Declaration of Independence of Ukraine, which was approved at national referendum on December 1, 1991. Ukraine’s birth bears a legal nature: 64% of the population in the 84% turnout voted for its independence But along with national independence Ukraine should social independence: people in our society should be humans that to be confident about their future and to have a good salary. Only then our country will thrive.
Stanislav Nikolaenko also spoke about Constitution of Ukraine as he took part in it adopting. The 24-hour debate on the Basic Law in 1996 is history already. Even at that time Crimea was for on the half-step of disconnexion, and everything was done to keep the integrity of the state. Unfortunately, radical forces succeeded in shaking the situation in the country. But Putin's greatest crime is Slavic destroyed unity. But our main task today is to keep the unity of the country.
It is pleasant to know that our University has done much for our country for its one hundred and nineteen-year-old history. More than 150 thousand graduates glorified their alma mater as well as our state . We laid Walk of Fame to commemorate their memory. And first busts are already fixed up.
Rector of University named scientists with the highest citation index. They are Valery Kashparov, Mykola Starodub, Yuriy Suhenko, Ivan Kovalchuk, Anatoly Mazurkevych and others. He expressed gratitude laboratory heads such as Oleksiy Novikov, Andriy Klyuvadenko, Vyacheslav Guba and superintendent Myhailo Pavlenko, roofers Myhailo Turka, Victor Pernyatin, chief of a machine workshop, Petro Vyshak chief mechanic, Valentyna Baranich, a cleaner. And there are a lot of other good people in our team. They do all their daily work to strengthensthe country and state sovereignty.
The zest of the celebration was university amateur performances. What is more pleasant is that they are prepared by freshmen Anastasia Parfenyuk, Ivan Zakharov, Tetiana Vasylchuk as well as a male ensemble "Amero" and Yaryna Bilous, a land management faculty manager.
