Wiesenhof Gastro Service of PHW Group Invites Students of NULES of Ukraine to Its Enterprises

December 3, 2014

Wiesenhof enterprise was established in 1932. The field of its activity was production of incubators. In 1995 Wiesenhof was the first German chicken supplier to provide documented guarantee of origin. Since 1997 Wiesenhof enterprises completely excluded any use of antibiotics and growth promoters. Thereby Wiesenhof won respect and trust of consumers and food companies working with the Group. The company’s turnover in 2013 amounted to nearly 2.5 billion euros and the number of employees reaches 6,000. These and many other facts prove the significant position of Wiesenhof Company at the market not only in Germany, but also in Poland, Belgium, Austria and other countries of the European Union.

Therefore, when the Dean of the Faculty of Food Technology and Quality Control of Agricultural Products, Larysa V. Bal-Prilipko received an offer to start student practice programs at the enterprises of Wiesenhof Company, she gladly accepted. The delegation, which included Associate Professor of the Department of Processes and Equipment of Agricultural Products Processing of the Faculty of Food Technologies, Vladyslav Sukhenko, was formed with the support and direct participation of the Head of the Education and Research Centre for International Activities, Vadym Tkachuk. The supervisor of this program is Associate Professor of Kirovohrad National Technical University, T.V. Rusanovska.

The negotiations with the head of one of 14 plants of PHW Group, Wiesenhof Gastro Service, Peter Kopp, and HR Manager, Dennis Bergel, took place on October 5, 2014. The participants reached a preliminary agreement on practical training of 20 students of NULES of Ukraine that will take place every 2-3 months. One more positive aspect of these negotiations was presence of the official representative of the Federal Employment Agency of Germany, Daniel Zuther, who promised to support this close, fruitful and mutually beneficial cooperation.

It should also be emphasized that the German party took into consideration difficult financial situation in Ukraine and the war that takes place in the East and decided to fully fund the costs for transport and stay of the delegation in Hitzacker (Elba), Dannenberg, and Wolfsburg (Lower Saxony).

The Education and Research Centre for International Activities headed by Vadym A. Tkachuk has already started training, selection and testing of the first group of students of the Faculty of Food Technology and Quality Control of Agricultural Products.

We hope for further cooperation with Wiesenhof Company; we believe that knowledge our students receive at the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine will be appreciated by our counterparts in Germany, and we wish our students success in their training.
