Integration of Geospatial Data For Research of Natural Resources
On November 27-28, 2014, the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Integration of Geospatial Data For Research of Natural Resources” took place at the ERI of Land Resources and Law.
Organizers of the event were the ERI of Land Resources and Law, the Department of Geographic Information Systems and Technologies, the Scientific Centre for Aerospace Research of the Earth of the Institute of Geological Research of the NAS of Ukraine, and “TVIS-INFO” LLC.
The conference was attended by scientists, representatives of commercial structures, students and graduate students. Conference participants represented the following institutions: Scientific Centre for Aerospace Research of the Earth of the Institute of Geological Research of the NAS of Ukraine (Kyiv), Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, National Technical University of Ukraine “KPI”, Ivan Franko Lviv National University, National Aviation University, National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine, National University of Water and Environmental Management (Rivne); Institute of Geophysics of the NAS of Ukraine (Kyiv); Research Institute of Geodesy and Cartography (Kyiv); Yu. M. Bilokon Ukrainian State Research Institute of Urban Design “Dnipromisto” (Kyiv); Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture (Kyiv); University of Stuttgart (Germany); “Druzhba Nova” JV, “TVIS-INFO” LLC (Kyiv), “Vizicom” PJSC, DRON.UA.
The greeting speech was delivered by Vice-Rector for Academic and Scientific Activities, Legal and Social Issues, Doctor of Law, Professor, Head of the Organizing Committee, Volodymyr I. Kurylo, who highlighted the importance and relevance of the conference.
Topics covered at the conference included burning issues of integration of geospatial data for research of natural resources, the role of GIS and remote sensing (RS) data in thematic mapping, using remote sensing data in geology, geographic information modelling issues, use of GIS technologies in national and regional urban development projects.
