3 листопада 2019 року

Within the framework of the Open Doors Day held at the University on October 31 and November 1, the School of Young Journalism was organized by the Department of Journalism and Language Communication, on the initiative of the Dean of the Faculty for Humanities and Pedagogics, Vasyl Dmytrovych Shinkaruk. In this way the department decided to spread knowledge on media literacy and to acquaint talented youth with the basics of the journalist's profession.
The school, which attracted many college entrants and students, was held in our university for the first time and lasted for 2 days.
On the first day, students of the Pryluky Agrotechnical College became students of the School. They came specifically to NULES to listen to leading scholars and practitioners. Among them - the head of the department of journalism and language communication, professor Natalia Kostrytsya; People's Artist of Ukraine, Professor Tetiana Tsymbal; Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor Iryna Vakulyk; Associate Professor, journalist Anton Oleksandrovych Liahusha.

Honored Journalist of Ukraine Ivan Chyzh addressed the students of the students from the town of Pryluky with a welcoming speech and a call to study at the Faculty for Humanities and Pedagogics. The entrants were then able to learn about all kinds of journalistic activities. After all, a master-class for them was held by the announcer and presenter of Ukrainian television programs Tetiana Tsymbal. She told about her long-term experience and shared the secrets of success. These include simplicity, love of the profession, proficiency in language and oratorial skills, and a must to love those for whom you write and speak. Tetiana Vasylivna also told the story of her own success and the success of many colleagues who today are the first names of Ukrainian journalism.
A special guest of the School was producer and promoter of “TVLAB” Yana Teranis. Her training was devoted to various professions related to the media. She said that a journalism diploma opens up various opportunities and a wide range of activities related to the communication field. She shared her experience of changing many professions in the communications field. Yana also gave advice and recommendations on self-actualization in a particular activity.
Later on an associate professor Anton Lyahusha told what media education and media literacy are, how to distinguish truth from fakes, and why everyone needs to learn the basics of media. Afterwards, the students and their instructor played an online game, Media Literacy Mission.

And the most enjoyable thing is getting the Certificates from the School members to confirm that they have completed training and intensive journalism courses.

The second day of the School was also devoted to the basics of journalism and media literacy. It was attended by high school students who were delighted with the School and promised to return to the University, but as students.
See you at the Faculty for Humanities and Pedagogics!
