Associate Professor of Department of Automatics and Robototechnical Systems Dmytro Komarchuk and experts from the Department of General Ecology and Life Safety Professor Volodymyr Starodubtsev and graduate student Inna Vlasenko began seasonal monitoring of soil moisture in the Educational and Study Department of NULES of Ukraine, because of the future productivity of land heavily depends on.

In particular with the use of UAVs results of spring redistribution of water in the fields and soils were obtained. It shows the spatial heterogeneity of water regime from which future productive depends on the supply of moisture, and agrochemical and physico-chemical properties of soil, and their biological activity , weediness, spreading pests, quantity and quality of the crop.

Air study of agricultural fields in spring open new horizons for the study of land water regime and provide the ability to perform rapid assessment of habitat soils with different seasonal and long-term dynamics of productive moisture, identify the relationship dynamics of moisture and soil fertility and appropriately adjust the agricultural works. Further implementation of using aircraft UAVs are extremely promising and important and requires further adaptation of remote diagnostics for agriculture.
