Scientific, Research and Innovation work
- Introduction of methods for evaluation of food quality and safety and food products identification (in association with ULQSAP);
- Development of national standards for food, food production and processing technology;
- Detection of toxic compounds in the environment of Ukraine, food raw material, and their impact on its quality anf safety;
- Monitoring of condition of child and adult nutrition and solving main problems related to this in Ukraine;
- Popularization of theoretical and practical foundations of balanced diet and healthy lifestyle;
- Evaluation of new technologies as to their prospectivity, practicability and conformity to human needs (nanotechnologies, genetically modified products);
- creation of technology for production of products with new properties, directionally changed biochemical composition, according to the needs of human organism;
- improvement of food storage system at all stages from raw material transportation to the delivery of final products to the consumer, ensuring maximum quality preservation and decreasing loss of biological value of products.
During its research activity, scientific and teaching staff has published more than 800 of scientific works, in particular 32 monographs and course books, received 163 copyright certificate and patents for invention. In 2009 scientific and teaching staff prepared and published course books, study manuals, guides and tutorials with total volume of more than 5 thousand pages. Under the ERI there is post-graduate and doctoral training progammes in the courses 05.18.16. Food products manufacturing technology; 05.18.13 Preserved and refrigerated products technology; 16.00.06 Veterinary hygiene and and sanitation.
