Educational work
Ukrainian Education and Research Institute of Bioresources Quality and Life Safety has been founded by virtue of the Decree No. 664 of August 4, 2009, according to decisions of the Academic Board of September 1, 2010 and of April 27, 2010 (Record No. 10), with aim of using mental vocabulary of scientific and teaching personnel, scientific and educational activities expansion and coordination of research, experimental and technological works, information and service back-up of food production industry, and for the purpose of enhancement of efficiency of scientific and teaching personnel’s potential, structure optimization and arrangement. The Institute was created on the basis of the Education and Research Institute (ERI) of Animal Science and Water Bioresources, ERI of Plant and Soil Sciences, the Faculty of Food Production Technology and Agricultural Products Quality Control, Plant Protection faculty, Technological ERI.
Primary objectives of the Institute are the following:
· Training of qualified, competitive specialists of all educational and qualification levels in the field of food production technology and engineering;
· Research, information and advisory activity, development and introduction of innovative technologies;
· Training of scientific staff of the highest qualification level – PhD and Doctors of Sciences in food processing and agricultural industry.
As a structural subdivision of National University of Life and Evironmental Sciences of Ukraine, Ukrainian Education and Research Institute of Bioresources Quality and Life Safety was established for the purpose of sectorial integration of science into production. Serhii D. Melnychuk, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor, Associate Member of the UAAS, was appointed as a director of the Institute. The structure of the Institute includes: Ukrainian Laboratory of Quality and Safety of Agricultural Products, Research and Development Institute of Standards and Technology of Environmentally-safe and Organic Products Production (the city of Odessa), 4 inter-institution research and education centers, which incorporate four departments and production units.
Ukrainian Education and Research Institute of Bioresources Quality and Life Safety prepares highly-qualified specialists of Bachelor and Master qualification level for food production and processing industry and in the field of quality control and standardization of agricultural products in Ukraine. Besides, there is Candidate’s and Doctoral Dissertation Defense Board within the Institute.
Educational approach of the Institute is to ensure the effective implementation of state order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine training a new generation of professional engineers in the field of food production technology, based on modern educational standards, adapted to the requirements of the world’s best education program and work in public and non-public areas.
