Scientific research work
Scientific research of the department is aimed at agrochemical support and agroecological justification of the use of fertilizers, studying the transformation of compounds of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, trace elements and heavy metals in the "soil-plant-fertilizer-environment" system; development of a system of fertilization of agricultural crops, improvement and certification of technologies for their cultivation; bioconversion of organic waste.
The department conducts two stationary experiments. In the stationary field experiment of the department, established in 1961 at the Agronomic Research Station of NULES of Ukraine (Pshenichne village, Vasylkivskyi District, Kyiv Region), the role of organic and mineral fertilizers, their combination with other chemical means on the formation of high-quality crops, the influence on soil fertility, processes of transformation of macro- and microelements in soil and plants, elements of the technology of growing agricultural crops are being developed.
In the hospital for the study of resource-saving methods of soil cultivation (the village of Horodyshche, Boryspilsky district, Kyiv region), the nutritional regime of the soil is studied, measures are developed to optimize the nutrition of various crops, and the effectiveness of various cultivation technologies is researched.
