Doctor of agricultural sciences, professor

In 1992, he graduated from the Kaliningrad Technical Institute of Fish Industry and Farming, majoring in ichthyology and fish farming, where he qualified as an ichthyologist-fish breeder. From 1992 to 1995, full-time post-graduate student at the Institute of Fisheries. In 1996, he was the chief specialist of the main department for the development of fish farming, fishing and raw resources of the Ministry of Fisheries of Ukraine. From 1996 to 1997, he was a leading specialist in the management of industrial fish farming of «Ukrrybhosp». From 1997 to 1998, he studied at the master’s degree at the National University of Economics under the state order of the Main State Service under the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. From 1998 to 1999, he was a leading specialist in the management of foreign economic relations and marketing of the State Fisheries Committee of Ukraine. From 1999 to 2004, he was the head of the Laboratory of Genetics and Fish Breeding of the Institute of Fisheries. In 2003–2004, a scholarship holder of the NATO program «Science for Peace» at the Institute of Ichthybiology of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Golysh. In the period from 2004 to 2009, deputy director for coordination and approval of scientific developments of the Institute of Fisheries. From 2009 to 2019, he worked as the head of the breeding and biotechnology department of the Institute of Fisheries of the National Academy of Sciences. Since November 2019, he has held the position of professor of the Department of Aquaculture at the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

In the period 2005–2019, he repeatedly participated as an international consultant of FAO in Kyrgyzstan, as well as as a national coordinator of fisheries development programs in Ukraine. Author of more than 100 scientific works. In 2017-2019, a member of the working group on reforming the fishing industry of Ukraine. Active member of the Network of Aquaculture Research Centers of Central and Eastern Europe (NACEE).

In 2013, he defended his doctoral dissertation in agricultural sciences, specializing in fish farming. He received the academic title of professor in 2016.

 Professor, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences

In 1973 she was graduated from the Faculty of Biology of the Kiev State University named  often T. Shevchenko for specialty “Biology”. She received training biologist and microbiologist and teacher of biology and chemistry.

Nadiya Vovk passed the way from engineer at the Scientific Research Institute of Genetics and Selection of industrial microorganisms to the head of the Laboratory of Physiology of Fish and fish disease at the Institute of Fisheries NAAS of Ukraine and professor of Department of general zoology and ichthyology at the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine. In December 2011 was appointed head of the Department of aquaculture.

In 1996, she received her PhD in the specialties of: 03.00.07 - Microbiology; 16.00.03 - veterinary microbiology, virology, epizooty mycology and Immunology. In 2002 she defended his doctoral dissertation on specialty 03.00.16 - ecology.

Nadiya Vovk is author of over 150 scientific papers, including 6 patents, 2 monographs, 5 textbooks, 2 manuals, 14 teaching materials and typical applications of subjects. She is scientific director of graduate students.

She was awarded the distinguished service "Honorary Worker of Fisheries of Ukraine" and Diploma of the State Committee for Fisheries of Ukraine.

Scientific activity Nadiya Wovk aims to study aquatic ecosystems, fish diseases’ etiology, the development of environmentally friendly methods of prevention of fish diseases and increase productivity of fish ponds.

She teaches disciplines "Diseases of fish" for students of level "Bachelor" and "Fundamentals of the theory of evolution aquatic" for students of level "Master". 

 

 

Associate Professor of the Department
Vasyl Kovalenko

      In 1980 Vasyl Kovalenko was graduated from Zootechnical faculty of the Kherson Agricultural Institute. From 1980 to 2002, pp. he worked in the Donetsk regional fish breeding and rearing plant in the varius positions from a master of a fish breeding station to the engineer on breeding of carp to the Chief engineer and deputy chairman of the OJSC «Donrybokombinat".

       Decorated  awards "Veteran of the fishing industry" (2008) and "Honorary Worker of the fishing industry" (2009).

       Since 2002 he works at the Department of Aquaculture. Author of 58 scientific and 14 educational works, 3 regulatory and technological documents, 5 rationalization proposals and 1 invention. He was supervisor of 85 graduates, including 46 bachelors, 2 specialists, 37 master's degrees.

      Scientific activities aimed at improving of technologies of the artificial reproduction of fish, improving of the selection and breeding in fish culture technologies and a rearing of marketable fishes.

Vadim Martsenyuk

He graduated from the Kherson Agricultural Institute with a specialty in «Zooengineering».

In 2006, he became a laureate of the award of the President of Ukraine for young scientists for the scientific work «Genetic and population methods of improvement and use of the gene pool of agricultural animals».

Author and co-author of more than 80 scientific and educational-methodological works, including 1 monograph, 6 patents for inventions, about 60 scientific articles in professional publications of Ukraine and abroad.

Iryna Kononenko

In 2011, she graduated from the National University of Bioresources and Nature Management of Ukraine, Faculty of Fisheries and received a master's degree with honors for full higher education in the specialty "Aquatic Bioresources" and qualified as an aquaculture researcher.

During 2013-2016, she studied by correspondence at the graduate school of the Institute of Fisheries of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. In 2018, she defended her candidate's thesis on the specialty 06.02.03 - fish farming.

She has been working at the department since 2012. Author and co-author of about 50 scientific works, including educational, methodical manuals and textbooks, an invention patent.

 In 2014, he graduated from the National University of Bioresources and Nature Management of Ukraine, Faculty of Fisheries, and received a master's degree with honors in the specialty "Aquatic Bioresources" and qualified as an aquaculture researcher.

Since 2017, he has been studying at the graduate school of the National University of Bioresources and Nature Management of Ukraine (Department of Aquaculture), majoring in "Aquatic Bioresources".

     In 2012, he graduated from the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine, Faculty of Fisheries, and received a master's degree in «Aquatic Bioresources» and qualified as an aquaculture researcher.

     During 2015–2018, he studied full-time at the graduate school of the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine (Department of Hydrobiology and Ichthyology).

       He is author and co-author of 20 scientific works: 1 Scopus, 2 Web of Science, 7 – in specialized publications of Ukraine and 10 theses at international scientific and practical conferences. The scientific interest concerns the reproduction of fish productivity of the reservoirs of the Dnieper Cascade.

Natalya Sharylo

    Since 2020, he has been working at the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine as a laboratory assistant at the Department of Aquaculture.
