On December 3, 2021, in online format on the basis of the Department of Surgery and Pathophysiology named after Acad. I. O. Povazhenko of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the National Institute of Veterinary Medicine of Ukraine held a scientific and practical seminar "The state and prospects of the implementation of cell technology methods in veterinary medicine", which brought together scientific experts and practicing doctors of veterinary medicine who are interested in cell technologies. The purpose of the seminar, first of all, was to acquaint representatives of science and veterinary practice with the latest technologies of cell-regenerative medicine that currently exist in the world, the state of their implementation in practical activities in the treatment of animals and people abroad and in Ukraine, as well as the exchange of experience between representatives of various fields, related to veterinary and medical, in order to find the possibility of conducting joint scientific research. An important issue of the seminar was also familiarizing its participants with the state of implementation of the results of scientific research conducted by the speakers on the use of cellular technologies in the treatment of animals and humans.

The seminar was attended by about 70 participants, among whom were representatives of scientific research institutions of Ukraine, universities of medical and biological direction, private universities that develop biotechnology methods, doctoral students, postgraduate students, students and practicing doctors of veterinary medicine.

The director of the Research Institute of Animal Health, Doctor of Veterinary Sciences, Associate Professor Serhii Holopura addressed the participants of the seminar, who opened the event and wished them fruitful work.

Among the speakers were a professor, doctor of veterinary science, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, assl. Anatoly Mazurkevych, a figure of science and technology of Ukraine, who in his speech outlined the contribution of the scientists of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the NUBiP of Ukraine to the development of domestic experimental cell technology, gave a description of the research base of biological properties of stem cells, which functions at the faculty.

Doctor of Veterinary Sciences, associate professor Vitaly Kovpak gave a speech on the topic "Cell therapy for diabetes in animals." Vitaly Vasyliovych presented the results of experimental and clinical research by foreign and domestic scientists on the effect of stem cells when they are used in animals with diabetes.

The impact of allogeneic stem cells on the tumor process in the model of metastatic Lewis lung carcinoma was presented in her report by Doctor of Veterinary Sciences, Associate Professor Larisa Kladnytska, who explained how exactly stem cells affect the tumor process

Nataliya Shuvalova, candidate of biological sciences, presented a report to the participants of the seminar on the topic "MSC: problems and prospects of application in humane medicine." The speaker spoke about the current state of application of cellular technologies in humane medicine in the world and in our country.

The practical use of cellular technologies for pathologies of the locomotor apparatus in horses was presented by the doctor of veterinary medicine of the "Magnat" equestrian sports base Yevhen Brusko, who spoke about the use of cellular technologies for laminitis in horses.

Natalia Shotkina, a researcher at the Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Children's Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, presented a report "Modern developments of tissue-modified bio-implants and prospects for their use in medical practice." Nataliya Volodymyrivna spoke about the current state of the use of bio-implants in humane medicine, in particular, for heart pathologies, focusing separately on the achievements in this direction of the team of specialists with whom she has the honor to work.

Mykola Malyuk, doctor of veterinary sciences, in his report focused on the scientific developments of the NNL "Centre of Cellular Technologies in Veterinary Medicine" of the Department of Surgery and Pathophysiology named after Acad. I.O. Povazhenka NUBiP of Ukraine and made suggestions regarding their implementation in veterinary practice.

The head of the Department of the State Pharmacopoeia of Ukraine Nelya Kyshenets, Doctor of Veterinary Sciences, First Vice-Rector of the Kharkiv State Zoo Veterinary Academy Dmytro Kibkalo, Doctor of Veterinary Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Animal Biochemistry and Physiology named after Acad. M.F. Gulogo Larisa Kladnytska, head of the department of surgery and pathophysiology named after Acad. I.O. Dear Mykola Malyuk, Doctor of Veterinary Sciences, Professor of the Department of Surgery and Pathophysiology named after Acad. I.O. Dear Anatoly Mazurkevich.

The speakers emphasized the importance of conducting such events to familiarize with the areas of research conducted by colleagues and to find such areas in which it would be possible to work together. Therefore, at the end of the seminar, a decision was made to submit applications to the MES for conducting joint scientific research on the use of cell technologies and their implementation in clinical veterinary practice.
