NUBiP of Ukraine has become an academic member of International Federation of Surveyors (FIG)

     Our university has got an academic membership in International Federation of Surveyors at the 41st General Assembly which took place May, 6, 2018 in Istanbul, Turkey. FIG was founded in 1878 and is a United Nations and World Bank recognized non-governmental organization of national member associations, cadastral and mapping agencies and ministries, universities and corporations from over 120 countries. FIG covers the whole range of professional fields within the global surveying community, hereunder surveying, cadastre, valuation, mapping, geodesy, geospatial, and quantity surveyors and provides an international forum for discussion and development aiming to promote professional practice and standards. FIG is recognized by UNO and World Bank.

     Membership in FIG is another possibility for our Faculty to cooperate with professional agencies and universities which train geodesists and support their professional growth. The number of educational establishments in FIG is 95. We are proud to be the only Ukrainian university to be a FIG member.

     The advantages of an academic membership in FIG:

• to become a part of global community in order to spread the advantages of geodesy and land management;
• the access to international geodesic community to share the experience and new developments;
• liaisons throughout the world;
• the popularization of the profession of geodesist in Ukraine;
• the involvement of different of aspects of geodesy, including ethics, standards, training through working groups, FIG commissions;
• the access to continuing professional development and critical self-assessment of individual standards and professionalism;
• the access to institutional support of FIG as a global geodesy community in order to improve educational and professional environment of Ukraine.

     NUBiP of Ukraine has the right of taking part in FIG commissions, technical meetings, congresses, General Assembly meetings. We will receive FIG information materials.

     We are allowed to use FIG logo with words "Academic Member".
