The department is known for its research on the development of treatment methods for stachybotriotoxicosis and dendrodochiotoxicosis, the study of diseases of horses with the colic symptom complex, traumatism of the foreskin in cattle, pathogenesis, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of gastrointestinal and respiratory diseases of young farm animals.
Nowadays, the scientific work of the department is aimed at the study of microelement diseases in animals, the study of molecular mechanisms of the formation of the functional activity of the intestine in animals of the early postnatal period in normal and pathological conditions, the development of express methods for early diagnosis, treatment and prevention of metabolic pathology in farm and domestic animals, the study of molecular mechanisms the formation of an immunoresistant state of the organism of newborn animals; study of natural resistance and ways of increasing it in animals, development of new therapeutic and preventive drugs based on biogenic compounds of microelements; development of methods of diagnosis, treatment and prevention of internal diseases of animals using the latest technologies in veterinary medicine, development of methods, devices and equipment for remote diagnosis of clinical indicators in animals; study of the molecular mechanisms of formation and regulation of the level of colostral immunity in the body of newborn animals. Preparations using nanotechnology in liposomal and microcapsular forms have been developed and their clinical effectiveness in non-infectious animal pathology has been investigated.
