In May 2025, on the basis of the Museum of Soils of the Department of Soil Science and Soil Protection of NUBiP of Ukraine held a career guidance meeting for students of the 9-A class Lyceum No116 m. Kyiv.

The event was organized by Associate Professor Anna Yarosh and Professor Yuriy Kravchenko in cooperation with the teaching staff of the Lyceum. An informative excursion was held for schoolchildren, during which they got acquainted with the unique variety of soils of Ukraine and the peculiarities of their study.

The collection of minerals, which is a valuable property of the department, a special interest of the ninth-graders, was aroused. The students actively asked questions, joined the discussion and showed a sincere interest in the natural sciences.

The meeting ended with an interactive quiz in the format of Mentimeter, which helped to consolidate new knowledge, provided a positive competitive mood and a desire to return to NUBiP Ukraine already in the status of students and students of the Faculty of Agrobiology.

On April 20, 2018, in a picturesque corner of Pushcha-Vodytsia, at the school of I-III degrees No104 named after O. Olzhych, career guidance work was carried out by the associate professor of the Department of Soil Science and Soil Protection named after prof. M.K.Shikuly Pikovskaya Elena. Students of the tenth and eleventh grades were presented with a presentation about the Faculty of Agrobiology and the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine.

Olena Volodymyrivna acquainted the students with the specialties "Agronomy" and "Gardening and Viticulture", spoke about the benefits of studying at the Faculty of Agrobiology, opportunities and prospects for future employment. With admiration, high school students listened to cooperation with leading agricultural companies, opportunities for professional growth, demand for specialists in the field of soil science and agrochemistry.

Special interest in future entrants was caused by the possibility of passing production practices and studying abroad. They were interested in the conditions of admission to NUBiP of Ukraine. The students were provided with information on the benefits of studying at preparatory courses for EIT conducted by the university, as well as participation in subject Olympiads.

High school students were interested in information about the Faculty of Agrobiology, they received booklets and in the future we hope to see them in the ranks of our students.

We express our gratitude to the deputy director for educational work of the school of I-III degrees No104 named after O. Olzhycha Kuranova Iryna Oleksandrivna for organizing a meeting with future students of NUBiP of Ukraine.

On April 20, 2018, on the basis of Verkhnyansky educational complex "Secondary school No1 - lyceum" in the city. Khrystynivka of Cherkasy region began a student school with the participation of teachers of the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine, the State University of Infrastructure and Technologies, the National University of Horticulture, the State Pedagogical University. P.G. Tychyna.

A friendly meeting, a concert performed by schoolchildren and even a baked caraway, impressed the guests of the Lyceum and created a friendly atmosphere even before the conference.

Before the students, teachers and their parents made presentations and reports: Vice-Rector for Educational and Educational Work Kvasha Sergey Nikolaevich and teachers of our university.

Associate Professor of the Department, Candidate of Agricultural Sciences Kateryna Karabakha took part in this event and made a scientific report to schoolchildren: "Soils as a basis for the formation of product quality".

Brief information about the prospects of studying at NUBiP and a video with information about the Faculty of Agrobiology interested schoolchildren and raised many questions. Students received more detailed information about the conditions of admission from the avenues of the Faculty of Agrobiology.

On the weather autumn day, high school students of the school of I-III degrees No104 named after O. Olzhych (m. Kyiv) visited the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine. They were interested in our university during the career guidance work carried out in April by Associate Professor of the Department of Soil Science and Soil Protection named after prof. M.K.Shikula Elena Pikovskaya.

For organizing a meeting with future students of NUBiP of Ukraine, we express our gratitude to the deputy director for educational work of the school of I-III degrees No104 named after O. Olzhycha Iryna Kuranova.

Acquaintance with NUBiP of Ukraine began with an excursion through the territory of the university. The students were impressed by the architecture of the university buildings, its location in the forest park area, a large number of specialties for which students are trained.

After that, the Department of Soil Science and Soil Protection named after prof. M.K.Shikuly. In the Museum of soils, career guidance work with high school students was conducted by the head of the department, Professor Anatoliy Balayev. He outlined the historical stages, main directions and tasks of soil science. With interest, students listened to the importance of soils, the need for their protection and restoration of fertility. Anatoliy Dzhalilovych introduced the peculiarities of soil research and the work of the department headed by him.

In the Museum of Geology and Soil Cartography, Associate Professor OlenaPikovska spoke about the prospects of the specialty "Agronomy", the benefits of studying at the Faculty of Agrobiology and the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine. The students were interested in information about future employment in leading agricultural companies and internships abroad.

With the assistance of the director of the Botanical Garden Oleksandr Slyva, students were held a tour of the pearl of the university. From the employee of this unit of the university Stanislav Slyusar, students learned about different types of plants, the role and tasks of the botanical garden, specialties that are undergoing practical training on his basis, and even tasted edible chestnuts. There was something to surprise them! After all, the total number of plant taxa here goes back to 1499. With pleasure, high school students were photographed in different photo zones. They were struck by wooden sculptures, fountains, gazebos, which are the decoration of the garden. Curators of students also liked eco-class, compositions of stone, fountains and carved figures.

The tour ended with a visit to the modern laboratory of soil diagnostics. The representative of the company "Agroscope International" Myroslava Predolyak spoke about the joint project of the company with the Department of Soil Science and Soil Protection named after prof. M.K. Shykula, the possibilities of conducting modern research, and also emphasized the importance and demand in the labor market of specialists in the field of soil science and agronomy.
