                                              The aim of the project have been achieved:


  Updated and modernized curricula, programs and teaching methods at the university in the preparation of future specialists in ecology and environmental protection in accordance with the Bologna agreement.
                                           

                                                     The project results:

 - In NULESU developed and modernized curricula and job training programs for future environmental experts at the University - bachelors and masters.
 - Comparative evaluation of existing curricula and training programs for future environmental experts was conducted. The needs of the labor market in their preparation was analyzed.
 - Training complexes was developed according to modernizing and introducing of new courses.
 - Academic staff participated in the project mobility.
 - Academic library resources were updated and modernized. A database of educational resources was created.
 - Pilot training of students, environmentalists according to updated and modernized curricula was initiated.
 - Curricula and programs have been evaluated by:
   – Institute of Plant Protection of National Academy of Agricultural Science of Ukraine,
   – National Science Center "Institute of Agriculture of National Academy of Agricultural Science of Ukraine",
   – Institute of Agroecology and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine,
   – Ltd Scientific Production Company "Agroecosystems".

 

 

 

 

Final conference of ENAGRA Tempus project

On November 6-9, 2012 a final conference of the joint EU TEMPUS project “Environmental Curricula at Agricultural Universities” (ENAGRA) was held at Lviv National Agrarian University.

The conference was attended by Secretary General of Association for European Life Science Universities (ICA) prof. Simon Heath, project coordinator prof. Stefan Ignar, Monika Tehmanska of Warsaw University of Life Sciences, prof. Vitaliy Lysenko – the first vice-rector of the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine (NUBiP) and prof. Victor Kalensky – project coordinator. There were also representatives of the Buryat State Academy (Russia), Saratov State Agrarian University (Russia), University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences (Austria), University of Ghent (Belgium), University of Lleida (Spain).

Final conference was aimed to summarize three-year project that had started in January 2010.
 

General Assembly of ENAGRA Tempus: SSAU

On October 17-18, 2011 Saratov State Agrarian University named after N.I. Vavilov (Russia) held an international educational and methodological conference “Current problems of educational process: modernization of agrarian education” within the framework of the project Tempus IV ENAGRA.
Conference was opened on October 17, 2011 by Kuznetsov Nikolaz I. – Rector of Saratov State Agrarian University. The welcoming speech was delivered by Gorbunov Segey I. – Deputy Head of the Government of Saratov region (initial speaker was supposed to be Igonkin Oleksander V. – Minister of Agriculture of Saratov region).
The main speech on “Impact of international associations of agrarian universities on the changes in agrarian education and science” was given by Simon B. Heath – Secretary General, Association for European Life Science Universities.

Stefan Ignar (Poland) presented a speech on “Role of Tempus IV projects in modernization of agrarian education”. The co-speaker was Mosiej Jozef (Poland), who shared with the conference participants his experience of working with partners of Tempus projects.
Mennen Hartwig (Germany), Director General of LOGO Association in Germany, talked about “Opportunities of education in development of organic agriculture”.

Following this, participants gave their speeches and expressed theirs thoughts regarding matters mentioned. In the afternoon on October 17 the General assembly within the ENAGRA project took place. It gathered representatives of European, Ukrainian and Russian universities of the consortium in order to discuss execution of the project work plan under the leadership of Stefan Ignar, coordinator of the project Tempus IV ENAGRA.

The coordinator stressed the need to take into account opinions of enterprises and organizations (employers) while working on new and modernized educational programs. On October 18, 2011 the round table took place within the international educational and methodological conference "Problems and prospects of modernization of agricultural education."
The round table of the conference was opened by Larionov Sergei Vasilyevich - Deputy Rector for Education of the Saratov State Agrarian University named after. N.I. Vavilov with a presentation on "Role of international cooperation of the university in modernization of agricultural education."

The speech on "Internationalization - an important tool in the modernization of agricultural education in NUBiP of Ukraine" was delivered by Kalenskiy Victor P. - Director of the Educational and Scientific Center for International Activity of NUBiP of Ukraine.
Zazymko Oksana V. - Head of the Educational Activities of NUBiP of Ukraine gave a speech on "Implementation of the Bologna process principles in NUBiP of Ukraine".

Ladyka Maryna N. - Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Ecology and Sustainable Development of NUBiP of Ukraine, spoke on "Peculiarities of implementing the principles of the Bologna process on the example of the faculty of Ecology and Sustainable Development".
The speech on "Development of the project Tempus-IQAR in Russian State Agrarian University -MAA named after K.A. Timiryazev and MNAU" was given by Koshkin Eugene I. - Vice Rector for International Activities of RSAU-MAA named after K.A. Timiryazev.
The speech on "Experience of University of Agricultural Sciences of Vienna (BOKU) in implementing the Bologna Process" was made by Loiskandl Willibald - Professor of University of Agricultural Sciences in Vienna (BOKU) in Austria.
The speech on "Experience of University Lleida (Spain) in implementing the Bologna Process" was made by Jorge Alcazar Montero - Professor of University of Lleida in Spain.
The speech on "University of Ghent - Belgium model of agricultural education" was delivered by Verhé Roland - Professor of University of Ghent in Belgium.
The speech on "Modernisation of agricultural education in Kazakhstan" was made by Humarov Ghali Sahinhaliyevich - Vice Rector for additional education and international cooperation of West Kazakhstan Agricultural and Technical University named after Zhanhir Khan from Kazakhstan.
Then followed other speeches of the conference participants and after discussing the relevant issues the conference resolution was adopted.

Tempus Mobility: ENAGRA-UdL

Within the framework of project, from 4 to June 11, 2011 University of Lleida (Spain) welcomed the representatives of the partner universities.

Additional information: Four campuses of University of Lleida (UdL) joined seven schools: Rectorate Campus (Faculty of Arts), Cappont Campus (Faculty of Law and Economics, Polytechnic School, Faculty of Educational Sciences), Health Sciences Campus (Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Nursing), Campus of the School of Agricultural Engineering (School of Agricultural Engineering, ETSEA). More than 8560 students are studying in University.
ETSEA include next departments:

  • Agroforesty Engineering department
  • Horticulture, Fruit Growing Botany and Gardening
  • Environmental and Soil Sciences
  • Animal Husbandry
  • Plant Production and Forest Science
  • Chemistry
  • Food Technology
  • Mathematics

The ETSEA, in tune with the European trend marked by the Bologna Declaration, has kept for 25 years a cyclical structure:
- First-cycle Technical Engineering studies comprise 225 credits (180 ECTS European credits), 6 first-cycle diplomas with a duration of 3 years are equal to level of Bachelor.
- Second-cycle studies (Agricultural Engineering, Forest Engineering and Degree in Food Science and Technology) comprise 150 credits (120 ECTS). 3 second-cycle degrees with duration of 2 years are equal to level of Master.
The program of being in ETSEA had both methodological and practical nature according to project objectives. Study programs and E-learning platform, International Relations Office programmes and functioning and also operation of library of ETSEA were representing.

Besides training program participants acquainted with the work of Soil laboratory, visited research and teaching facilities on waste products utilization in agriculture, research and teaching facilities on horticulture and fruit trees and research and teaching facilities on integrated pest management.

Short intensive courses for staff: ENAGRA-EDUTER-NUBiP of Ukraine

Within the framework of International Joint Project «Environmental curricula at agricultural universities» – ENAGRA from May, 31 to June, 3 on the basis of Ukrainian educational institute of information and telecommunication support of agricultural and environmental sectors of the economy was held the International seminar “Distance and E-Learning Methodology”.

The lector of the seminar which was mentioned above was Professor of the AGROSUP-EDUTER - Higher Education College of Agronomic Science, Nutrition and Environment (France) Jacqueline Moins.

The participants of the seminar were representatives of the Consortium of the universities involved in this project: Saratov State Agrarian University named after N.I. Vavilov, Buryat State Academy of Agriculture named after V.R. Filippov (Russian Federation), Lviv State Agrarian University and NUBiP of Ukraine.

The program of the seminar included:
• Definition of e-learning and distance learning courses construction
• Presentation of peculiarities of educational platform Form@gri and some other courses
• How to create educational modules
• Training resources
• Leadership and mentoring of students
• Autres outils. Virtual class
At the end of the seminar all participants were given certificates.

Short intensive courses for staff: ENAGRA-EDUTER-NUBiP of Ukraine

Within the framework of Joint Project «Environmental curricula at agricultural universities» 159188-TEMPUS-1-2009-1-PL-TEMPUS-JPCR - ENAGRA project the following professors from Warsaw University of Life Sciences Chojnicki Jozef, Podlaski Sławomir, and Miroslaw Woyniakowski visited National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine during the period of May, 11-14. During this meeting were organized open lectures and round work tables with NUBiP specialists on the following topics:
• “Modern methods of distance learning in agricultural education”;
• “Ecological component in preparation specialists for plant growing”.

Tempus Mobility: ENAGRA-SGGW
From March 27 to April 2h Warsaw University of Life Science (SGGW) has held training courses according to the goal and tasks of the mutual project ENAGRA. The program of sojourn had envisaged a lot of interesting meetings and presentations.
On March 28 there was a meeting with vice-dean of agrarian faculty, Dr. Joseph Hodjinski, and heads of departments of this faculty SGGW. During this meeting participants got acquainted with special features of the educational process of master and bachelor programs of the faculty, its ecological components and also with the basis of educational lessons, in which a complex of greenhouses made a strong impression on the participants.

In the afternoon there was a visit to the central library of SGGW.


 

On the next day there were meetings with Pro-rector for Didactics, prof. Krystyna Gutkowska, and prof., dr. Kazimir Banasik. During those meetings participants of the training program got acquainted with the history of SGGW, peculiarity of the educational system of Poland, university location, its campus, education and research stations. Also there was a discussion about the comparison of educational systems of Ukraine and Poland.


On March 30 there was a meeting with prof., dr. Slawomir Podlaski, who presented peculiarities of the educational process at SGGW and its ecological components. Also there took place a meeting with an expert in computer technologies Miroslaw Vozniakovski and a discussion about the role of current computer technologies in the educational process of university. Also participants found out about the possibilities of distant education at SGGW.
On March 31 there were meetings at the engineering faculty with professor dr. Jersey Jeznah and dr. Joseph Mosiedji, where participants had an opportunity to listen about the peculiarities of the educational process organization at the faculty and the process of ecologization of the educational bachelor and master programs of the faculty.


The general contractor of the project, prof. Stefan Ignar, has shown to the participants the SGGW water center, which has more than 20 modern educational laboratories of water bioresources quality estimation.
Dean of the forestry faculty prof. Michal Zasada has talked to the participants about the situation in the forestry husbandry of Poland, bachelor and master programs of the faculty and its ecological components.
 

 

Tempus Mobility: ENAGRA- AgroSup Dijon

Within the framework of the Joint Project ENAGRA in AgroSup Dijon, National Superior Institute of Agronomic Sciences, Food and the Environment, France, an international workshop and training course for representatives of the consortium partner universities from Russia and Ukraine (Saratov State Agrarian University named after N.I. Vavilov, Buryat State Agricultural Academy named after V.R. Filippov, Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Buryatia, National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine, Lviv State Agrarian University) was hold from 7 to March 11, 2011.
According to the program of staying we were presented curricula of qualification levels "Engineer" and "Master" of AgroSup University Dijon (France):
- “Environmental protection, recycling of wastes and polluted water”, bachelor’s degree L-3, speaker - Pierre Jean Lemer;
- “Agriculture-environment”, master’s degree M-2, speaker - Sylvia Hranzher;
- “Agricultural Mechanization” in agronomy and animal husbandry, master’s level M-2;
- Presentation of "ALTERRA Burgundy" and curriculum "Water Sector", bachelor’s level L-3, speaker - Philippe Mayor.


The whole day was dedicated to introduction of the Institute of National School of Higher Education EDUTER, its mission in educational institutions, administrative structure and production units. Together with the Director of the Institute - Jean Shevaldone was also discussed the higher education system in France and Ukraine, the national peculiarities of educational systems and their place in European space.

Heads of Departments of the Institute acquainted us with technical support, server station, computer training classes, and departments which develop video and computer software, electronic manuals, online support service of software, an amphitheater of distance conferences and lectures, shop which sells produced educational literature and Formagri platform and developed in its shell curricula of subjects.

Participants visited the agricultural professional school MFR («Family cottage of Dijon region). Director of the institution - Teri Hubert presented the system of school and professional education in France, presented specialization: plant breeding and crop production, and also presented the classrooms, laboratories, campus and research station.

At the end of the training courses were also organized visits of the museum of wine in Beaune (France) and plant which produces liquors from black currants. All participants were given certificates.
 

 
Tempus Mobility: ENAGRA-Gent

Within the framework of the TEMPUS ENAGRA project at the Ghent University, Belgium, a training course was held for representatives of a consortium from Ukraine and Russian Federation since 20 to 27 of February, 2011.

The meeting of participants of the ENAGRA project with rector of the Ghent University, prof. Paul Van Cauwenberge.

During the visit to the Ghent University participants met with rector of the university, prof. Paul Van Cauwenberge, and dean of the Bioengineering faculty, prof.          Guido Van Huylenbroeck. Participants of the project got acquainted with national and international program for bachelors and masters of the Bioengineering faculty.

The Bioengineering faculty has one undergraduate program of the Bioengineering (Netherlands / 3 years), 7 master's programs of the Bioengineering (Netherlands / 2 years), 7 international master's programs (English / 2 years), specialized master's programs of the Environmental Sanitation and Management (Netherlands / 1 year) and the Integrated Water Resources Management (English / 1 year) and PhD programs at the applied biological sciences. Internationalization of department aims to master’s and PhD programs. International master's programs include:

- Nutrition and rural development;

- Rural Development (Erasmus Mundus, Atlantis);

- Food technology;

- Aquaculture;

- Environmental sanitation;

- Environmental Technologies and Engineering (Erasmus Mundus);

- Physical land resources.

 

The visit to the Environmental sanitation center (the Laboratory of Ecotoxicology)

Participants of the project visited laboratories of analytical chemistry and applied ecochemistry, organic chemistry, soil management, got acquainted with work of the Environmental sanitation center, which includes the laboratory of Ecotoxicology and Ecology of Water Ecosystems and the laboratory of Plant Ecology.

The program included an introduction of a company “Electrawinds”, which produces electricity from renewable energy sources, and visiting of one of the plants in Ostend, that produces electricity from city’s trash.

Tempus Mobility: ENAGRA-BOKU
 
Within the framework of Joint project ENAGRA the International workshop and training course for representatives of the consortium from partner-universities of Russia and Ukraine (Saratov State Agrarian University named after N.I.Vavilov, Buryat State Academy of Agriculture named after V.R. Philippov, Ministry of Education and Science of the Buryat Republic, National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine, Lviv State Agrarian University) was organized at the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU) in Austria from 23 to January 29, 2011.

Training Program included:

- Quality management (National and university);

- International Relations (Internationalization at BOKU);

- Library management and access;

- Curriculum development.

In addition to the thematic sessions participants had the opportunity to become acquainted with the activities of institutions of the Department of Water Resources, Atmosphere and Environment of BOKU and system of the University Library.

At the end participants were awarded with certificates.

International Seminar within a framework of Joint Project at the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine at Yalta Scientific and Educational Center of the Biology and Ecology of Landscape and Subtropical Plants from 12th till 16th of September 2010.
