A Master’s student of the “Administrative Management” program within the “Agrokebety” project shares her experience of studying at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (Spain) under the ERASMUS+ program
We have received feedback from a first-year Master’s student of the “Agrokebety” project at the Faculty of Agricultural Management of NULES of Ukraine about her studies at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (Spain) within the framework of the ERASMUS+ academic mobility program during the second semester of the 2025–2026 academic year. The student successfully passed the competitive selection and is currently studying in Cartagena. Below is her first-hand account.
While studying for my Master’s degree at NULES of Ukraine under the “Agrokebety” program, I have always paid attention to opportunities for international cooperation and academic mobility. That is why, when the call for applications for participation in the ERASMUS+ program at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (Spain) was announced, I decided to apply.
After successfully passing the selection process, I was given the opportunity to spend a semester at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT), a modern European university that actively cooperates with international partners and offers students innovative approaches to education.
Arriving in a new country and at a new university is always accompanied by excitement: a different educational system, new professors, new people. However, adaptation went quite smoothly thanks to the support of the university’s international office, ERASMUS+ program coordinators, and students from different countries who also came under the academic mobility program.
The learning process at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena is highly interactive and practice-oriented. Professors actively involve students in discussions, teamwork, presentations, and the analysis of real-life cases. This format not only helps to better absorb the material but also develops international communication skills, critical thinking, and teamwork.
Another special aspect is the atmosphere of the city itself. Cartagena is a historic city on the Mediterranean coast. The university campuses are located near the sea, so during breaks between classes students have the opportunity to walk along the waterfront, sit by the water, enjoy the sunshine, and relax a bit before the next lectures. This atmosphere makes studying more comfortable and inspires productive work.
An important part of student life is the activity of the international student organization ESN (Erasmus Student Network). This organization actively helps ERASMUS+ students adapt to the new environment, organizes cultural events, international meetings, trips, and various integration activities. Thanks to this, students have the opportunity to meet young people from different countries, learn more about other cultures, and make new friends.
It is especially important that there is a system of academic recognition of learning outcomes between NULES of Ukraine and the Polytechnic University of Cartagena. After the completion of the semester, the results are transferred to the dean’s office of the Faculty of Agricultural Management at NULES of Ukraine, where, in accordance with established procedures, the courses may be credited.
Studying under the ERASMUS+ program is a unique experience that allows you to see a different education system, broaden your professional horizons, improve your foreign language skills, and gain international academic experience.
I am sincerely grateful to the Faculty of Agricultural Management, the “Agrokebety” project, the International Relations Office, and NULES of Ukraine for their support and for the opportunity to study under the ERASMUS+ program at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena. This is an important stage of my professional development and an invaluable experience of international education.
