Autumn 2022 - we are moving towards victory and improving ourselves!

November 1, 2022

The beautiful time of autumn usually pleases and surprises us with its gifts, mild weather and the already started learning process, which is gaining momentum faster and faster, bringing us closer to exams and tests.

But this year Autumn is unusual... there is a war going on in Ukraine, military operations have been going on for 245 days, and classes are interrupted by an air alert!but even in this situation, we understand that it is high-quality training, our responsible attitude to education that brings our victory closer, because the country needs professionals! And wherever we conduct classes: in cozy classrooms of the University, in a bomb shelter or at home remotely – we plunge into the beautiful and unique world of knowledge! And every minute we thank our soldiers that we have such an opportunity to learn!

Instructors of the department of English philology are actively conducting educational work with students and postgraduates this fall. Every morning at 09 O'clock we honor the memory of the victims...last week we celebrated the birthdays of the luminaries of Ukrainian literature – Ivan Drach and Borys Oliynyk. Students recited poetry, made artistic translations of their favorite works.

They immersed in the history of our country: in 1947, about 100 thousand local people were taken from Western Ukraine to Siberia – this is the largest deportation of Ukrainians. Students and instructors paid tribute to the victims of operation "Zakhid", drew parallels with the forced deportation of Ukrainians from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine today.

Ukraine is known for its democratic traditions and the introduction of the first European Constitution of Pylyp Orlyk, which spelled out the concept of a "free people", the foundations of democracy and justice, anti-corruption and social foundations. This year we have celebrated the 350th anniversary of the birth of Pylyp Orlyk. Students prepared reports on the historical significance of the Constitution, as well as the development of democracy, the rule of freedom and Human Rights in Ukraine.
Instructors of the department of English philology showed considerable activity in improving their professional activities. They attended a number of seminars on English language teaching methods from leading teachers from around the world and discussed the implementation of advanced teaching methods at an interdepartmental seminar.

So, autumn inspires everyone to approach peace, learn and enjoy such a colorful nature.

senior lecturer of the department of English philology
