November 1, 2017

On the 1st of November 2017, an open practical lesson was held on the topic of Hobbies and Interests by a senior lecturer in the Department of Romance-Germanic Languages and the PhD, Oksana Volodymyrivna, Zakhutska.

The open lesson was held with the students of the 3rd year - future philologists and translators. During the open class, which took place in the form of a team competition, students were able to demonstrate their knowledge on the topic "Hobbies and Interests" in a friendly atmosphere, to apply in practice the elements of critical and logical thinking during the task "Describe the Character and Find Your Partner" as well as train their communicative skills in the game "Explain the Word". Additionally, students improved their receptive and productive skills by performing an interactive "Speaking about the Ten Most Extreme Sports" task based on watching videos in English and further playing key information during the "Who remembered more facts?" team game. In conclusion, participants, developing creative writing skills, wrote poems together about their hobbies.

Students with undisguised enthusiasm participated in the proposed activities, and not only showed their knowledge and developed new skills, but also received a lot of positive emotions, because the study of a foreign language - this is not only troublesome work, but, first of all, an interesting and inspiring lesson.
