The Institute was founded on the basis of the oldest in Ukraine, forestry department and the faculty of landscape management and landscape architecture in 2001.

The Institute organizes a continuous and holistic educational process of training for the forestry sector and landscaping industry for staged system of education under current law and existing regulations governing documents. The Educational concept of Institute is in preparing a new generation of specialists of different educational and skill levels to work in public and private sectors of the economy of Ukraine and other countries on the basis of modern educational technologies and use of advanced domestic and foreign experience. Since 1998 training of specialists is adapted for the educational program, recognized as the leading U.S. universities (University of Iowa and Minnesota) and the European Union (Humboldt University, Technical University in Dresden, Germany) and certified Memorandum (1998).
